The dealer I got mine from has/had an Ultramarine Auto last week when I was there. That color is gorgeous, but Im not really sure I like the black/red interior with the blue exterior. If you really want a 6MT, dont settle. Where are you located? I can help you find one if you want.
Bespoke is pointless, as it only works if you have an iPhone connected to it.
While I agree that he should wait until he finds the exact car he wants, the automatic tranny in this car is based off of the IS-F tranny. It is a very good transmission, and people are having tons of fun with it.

As far as black and red interior. I may or may not have a set of S2000 black leather seats in mint condition that may or may not fit in it.
Honestly, if I get bespoke. I will replace with LCD/LED nav...Android for life...
I've driven more autos than manual vehicles. I have no problem with the auto in this car. I just prefer to get a manual in this one. It is funny how much of a difference in mpg there is on highway.
Any way, back to paying off student loans/car loans/house loans until I decide wtf I want.
I test drove a matador red IS F at Carmax in Columbia, SC. Shit was beat to hell and back. Just a disclaimer to anyone in that area. A big fat DO NOT PURCHASE.

Just now getting around to this I tried earlier at work and the pics about blew up the work internet. Congrats on the car, it is really nice looking, love those seats and the red interior pieces.
That motor is out of this world though, I'd open it and be standing there like

Im actually thinking about joining NASA, mainly for the HPDE. The events are more expensive then SCCA, but its something Im very interested in. NASA also offers bonuses for those that volunteer. If you work 2 road course weekends as a flagger, timer, etc, you get one HPDE weekend for free.
Granted, SCCA is much larger at the Nat'l level, but thats not something Im interested in/capable of yet.
I think what I really need to do is get out to both events and spectate/work a non-hot corner just to see how things are. Id like to do roadcourse stuff but cones are fun too
I was under the impression dealers were sold out completely. That is what the dealers in SC are saying. I might try contacting a few in NC or GA. If I can get it in August, that would be ideal for my finances. Currently in a Renovation for a property I own.
What colors are they and what dealer?

If youre looking for something around August, Ill keep my eyes open.
Subaru of Richmond, one was red, one was Galaxy Blue Silica. I dont remember the transmission choices. I got an email from Brown Subaru as well saying a buyer backed out. No idea on trim/color/transmission, or if they even still have it. I saw the two at Richmond Subaru last week.

GBS is Ultramarine.
I emailed my contact at the Fortune Auto and they said there was a difference in the JDM cars, so the parts will be in by the end of the month. I got that message late Friday, Im going to call on Monday to clarification on that since it doesnt add up for two reasons:
-KW, Tein and Cusco list the same part numbers for the JDM and USDM vehicles
-Even if there was a difference, how does that affect the USDM parts that I am waiting for, when they already have all the measurements?
Im getting a bit pissed off about it. I plan on going to the East Coast Honda Meet at the end of the month, and I dont want to drive a 4x4.
I also need to get a few more parts on order in time for Import Alliance at the end of July.

Hopefully I will see you at the East Coast Honda meet and hopefully it will be with debuting my car but not holding my breath.
Also awesome to hear you are coming to IA.

Best tank was 32mpg (calculated via miles driven/amount to fill up). According to the dash readout, my lifetime MPG is 29.4. On flat roads, expect 32+. Its when the hills and mountains are in the way, the small engine can't hold speed in 6th so you have to downshift. But if youre on a mountain, you better be in the twisty bits and ringing out the gears
Hopefully there is a stroker kit shortly to bump it to a 2.2-2.4 liter, along with opening up the heads. When I had the CL engine stroked, my gas mileage went up a solid 3mpg.

Well I have confirmation the TSX won't be ready for the meet already so I am only 50/50 on going to the meet now as I may be spending the day in Bmore with the gf.
How is the suspension coming along?

Scratch above post. When did this event get moved from being in MD to Richmond, VA? It is now super far and not possible to go to the show and back to PA in same day now before heading back to NC so I won't be going.

It was always in Richmond though. They had one location just north of Richmond set up for the weekend of the 9th, but then moved it to RIR.
And I havent heard back from the suspension company yet. Im debating whether or not I should just stop by to get my answer.

As part of our efforts to continue showing you how important you are to us, please respond to this email with your shirt size at your earliest convenience. There are rumors that we should be getting a 1:10 scale HPI r/c car with a Scion body that is painted to match our car. The GM at my dealer mentioned it and a few others on FT86Club mentioned it as well. So far, I like Scion. I might even keep their badges on my car
Supposedly Scion also has some sort of First 86 badging in the works to differentiate our cars from the others.

The 2JZ swapped 86 is Ken Nomuras drift car. They put that engine faaaaaaar in the back. Its basically mid engined now
I must be in the minority, I hate that lip kit. BUT, I do want the IS-F V8. I'd even "settle" for the 5.7l in the Tundra.
Im waiting to see what the Chargespeed Bottom Line kit looks like for the FR-S. I like the one on the BRZ. Its very subtle, but just enough IMO.
I expect the sides and rear to be identical, but obviously the front will need to be different. They can keep the vortex generator though.

Figured as much. Its from JDM-land, so naturally, it has the JDM tax added on.

I hate waiting for parts to hit the market. Heres my list for performance parts (subject to change):
-Airaid intake: I like their design the most, and its not flashy. Adds approximately 5-7whp and 3-4wtq. Prototype unit:
-Nameless Performance header, front pipe, and mid pipe. Possibly their cat-back as well, but Im undecided. They made 21whp/15wtq over stock with the header, front/overpipe and catback. There were 11-15wtq gains in the hated "torque valley". This is the initial design, they are going to revise the header and overpipe to try to get more power out of it.
The most important thing is tuning. The stock ECU is constantly compensating. As you add more and more parts, its starts to pull back the power. There are theories as to why it does that, but nothing has been proven yet. Many companies are seeing the same issue.
Depending on the dyno, these cars put down 152-174whp stock, I forget the wtq number. Its looking very good for getting ~30-40whp with boltons and a tune.

What coils are you gonna go with. I would pick the kw variant 3 personally.
It makes sense putting a v8 in it if it is a competition drift car. In a drift car all that matters is low end torque to break the rear loose.
Otherwise I would not want a v8. Too much weight and raises the center of gravity, plus throws off the balance.
The whole design of this car is based on putting a flat four as low and far back as possible. If you throw in a v8 you are defeating alot of the design aspects of the car.
