Civic Si Sedan

Hi people,
Does any of you know much about the new 8th generation Civic Si? I am thinking about getting the 2009 Civic Si Sedan or the 2009 Nissan Altima.
Which one is better in terms of reliability and longivity?

thanks

They are both very different vehicles. It depends on what you need it for to decide what would be better for your needs..

Both vehicles are equally reliable, IMO.

2 of my close friends have an 08 Civic SI sedan. They are very nice and easy to modify. One just put the comptech supercharger on and the car is very quick. It's a honda so it will last forever.

I will take the civic si. I love that K20 soundtrack + the slick 6MT + awesome handling + many things else..lol...engine-wise, I'd imagine most mods that work on rsx-s, will work on the si too.

Both are comparable in regards to reliability, and maybe the edge goes to the Honda in terms of longevity.

One thing where the Si will destroy the Altima is in resale value. No contest there.

For that price you should also check out the Mazdaspeed 3. If it was only the 2 you mentioned I'd go with the Si.

Of the Si, or the Altima?

The Civic looks nice, but the Altima looks , IMO.

Of the two, I say Civic as well.

I give a slight edge to the Civic for reliability. And as pointed out, resale value on the Civic Si is much better. Either way, you can't go too badly. If you choose the Altima, plan to keep it for a long time.

I saw one guy putting down 300whp/320wtq @19psi with stock top mount intercooler. Then again consider something with more traction like a Subaru WRX and mod it up.

wow! overwhelming polls for the Civic Si! I think I will lean toward that instead
I test drove the MS3, it is a very "powerful" car. I am not into F.I. this will be my daily driver. I have a C6 at home =) No need for F.I. for daily drive, otherwise I would have gone for WRX.

Love this forum, thanks much!

The inclusion of having the C6 changes the perspective. If this was going to be your only car I'd get the Altima over a Civic, the civic is nice but the altima is one class up. If you were comparing the civic to a sentra, then I'd say civic all the way. But seeing how you have a vette, I'd get the civic in this case.

Personally, I love the Civic Si Sedan. Its really fun to drive, feels quick, handles great and the manual tranny is typical honda slick. I think it has one of the best designed interiors and the exteriors are quite nice as well.

I almost came close to giving up my Challenger dreams to go ahead and get a Si. I like them that much.

hard suspensions in manhattan are pain in the butt.

and depending on how badly you need a car, it may not be great purchase to spend $400 a month to park a Civic in a garage.
