Chevy Tahoe Hybrid takes 14 years to pay back

I was going through the msn sites that showcases what Hybrid cars would take how long to pay back for the gas uses vs. a conventional card. I came upon the tahoe and Yukon:

CHEVROLET TAHOE/GMC YUKON HYBRID

Base price: $50,490
Tax credit: $2,200.00
Adjusted MSRP: $48,290.00
Premium over regular version: $10,680.00
MPG: 21/22 (city/hwy)
Combined MPG: 21
Annual gas cost (15,000 miles, $3.40 per gallon): $1,826.09
Annual gas savings: $758.93
Years to pay back: 14.1
EPA pollution rating: N/A
Compared to: 2008 Chevrolet Tahoe LTZ 2WD
Base price: $37,610
MPG: 14/20 (city/hwy)
Combined MPG: 16
Verdict: If you can afford almost 50 grand for a vehicle and must haul people and cargo, take a look at the Tahoe Hybrid.

yes. If you buy a hybrid to save money, you are a fool!

Unless you can pick up a used insight or older gen prius

"Years to pay back" should be decreasing progressively as we approach $7 a gallon prices.

Heres the assumption:

15,000 miles, $3.40 per gallon
15k miles is reasonable for me, but maybe you drive more - it would be better.

Same with the assumption of the gas prices...I wish I could buy gas at $3.40 these days
