Charging battery On 2011 Chevy Silverado

I hooked a battery charger to my 2011 Chevy Silverado and the Horn & lights keep going off. What do I do to charge the battery without that happening?

Disconnect the battery cables.

It should just be as simple as unlocking the vehicle with the fob or riding it out and eventually it will shut off. My TL would do that occasionally, must just be a voltage issue to the panic system.
