Cars that need to be updated

on the S2000 and SC430. Having torque down low and across the rev range helps a LOT and while the S2000 is a hell of a lot of fun to drive, it just feels like there's something missing when you're just driving it in traffic.
Never driven the SC but the styling is aged. Same deal for the 09 TL.... heh

theres a reason the SC hasnt been changed all these years.
it still fits the needs of its demographic. and it has close to zero competitors.
automakers dont really need to constantly revise their niche cars. "set it. and for-get it"

Are you on crack? The E-series was new for the 2006 MY. I like the inside and outside of the current E350.
And those of you that think the S2000 needs a refresh should look at Thermon's post a couple up- some cars are classics and don't need to be "updated" much at all. Porsches and Miatas fall in this category too.
Some cars, like most Buicks and Nissans, can't be helped by updating-- complete clean-sheet redesigns are necessary.
On some cars, updating just makes the vehicles more bizarre and less attractive (Camry, TL, MDX, Escalade, Navigator)-- immediately chopping off the front and rear ends and redoing them would work wonders, although complete new bodywork would probably be better.

I think your the one on crack. The E-Class has had the same body style since MY 03. Maybe they changed engines and other things but the body is still the same. Not saying the styling is bad but its been out awhile.

Ford Ranger for sure, that thing is like the missing link in automotive evolution.
And Dodge/Chrysler needs to stop introducing all these retarded crossovers/mini-minivans. Focus on putting out a quality SUV, ONE crossover, and a mini-van, plus the trucks.
Oh, and Acura needs to revise just about every 09 model.
And bring back the CL, put in a 3.5 V6, 6 spd, nav...mmmm
Toyota just needs to bring back the Supra exactly how it was in 1998
and I'm suprised nobody mentioned to RX-8, it needs to be updated badly

See http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercedes-Benz_E-Class
I think the E-class holding its own aesthetically, even though I see about 20 of them every day.

You're on crack, I'm on uppers: New model W211 in 2002, facelift in 2006.

And almost all cars get facelifts in one way or another. I believe the new model is coming out in 2009.

The town car is being dropped I believe. I have an aunt and uncle who LOVE Lincolns. They can afford to drive whatever they want. He is on his 10th+ town car and she is on her 6th Navigator. He had to order a MKS this time because the town cars are going bye bye.

know many people that fit this category. they could get a s-class if they wanted, but for some reason, they just kept renewing their towncar lease over and over again.

I'm sure that we can all agree though that some cars were changed too early, I personlly thought the B7 A4 (2004~2008) looked great.
But back to the OP, if I were to add a couple more to the list it would be;
Scion Tc
Mazda 3
Infiniti G35 (even with the facelift it still looks similar to when it first came out in 2002)
Acura RDX
Volvo XE90
Oh and someone mentioned about bringing the Supra back, yeah, as long as they have a TT motor, I'm sure it'll be welcomed with open arms.

trailblazer is about to go out of production as well as its counterpart in the GMC line.... the next series of tahoe, suburban and escalade and yukon are not coming back for now...

i may be in the minority on this one, but i think the A6 should be due for a remodel.
the car still looks good, yes. and the S and RS variants do too. but like the A8, i think it's overdue for a redesign.

I think the A6 models are getting a minor facelift for 09. A8s got facelifted in 08. I think we're in for another year and a half or two minimum wait before seeing all new versions.

Saw a Sebring Convertible today and it made me thinkl... that baby needs a full remodel as well. They did refresh it, but it still looks basically the same to me. Time to go back to the drawing board.
