Car titles

I found a 240sx with low mileage and a 5spd all stock. I called the dude and he told me that the title was rebuilt but he was going to take it to the DMV soon to get the title cleared. I thought once a car was rebuilt it was always rebuilt from then on? So basically Im asking can a car go from rebuilt to clean again?

heres the link to the 240 btw

yes in some states after the vehicle is a certain age they can change it to a clean title. i had a 94 civic with a rebuilt title when i bought it. The new title came it was clean but in red letter had a number to the previous title status

some states use to allow a salvaged title to returned to a clean title after proving all repairs had returned the car to original status.

but i also thought all states had gotten away from allowing this. i know georgia use to this up until the early 2000.
