car radio stopped working

its a kenwood. bought new 4 1/2 yrs ago. it just died on me yesterday. no lights, no sound, nothing. i checked the radio fuse it looks fine. i pulled the deck out and checked the wiring (soldered) and they look fine. checked the fuse on the back of it and it looked good also. anyone have any ideas?

did u check all of your fuses??? sometimes the radio has its own fuse but is also linked to another one... do you have a meter??? you may have to see if you are even getting juice into the fusebox and the harness... then diagnose from there...

Thats happened to me before. Just replace the fuse. Its most likely the problem

i didnt check them all. only checked the radio fuse. but i will check them all or go to the auto parts store to have them check for me. thanks

i used to have a kenwood headunit and it did the same thing. i checked everything in the car fuses wires everything and nothing was wrong so i took it to hifi buys and they said the stereo didnt work. so i had to buy a new one. what model is it?

at this point im guessing thats the problem. might jsut have to replace the headunit itself.

its a kenwood KDC-X859

oh. i had the kdc-319 and i had to replace it.
