Infiniti G37 is the Japanese BMW, but two things are still missing for the G to really compete with the 3 series:

1. They need to have 2 engine choices to choose from.
2. Something to compete with the M3 coupe and sedan.

Even if I don't like the looks of it, the G37 convertible is a good first step to go head to head with the 3 series convertibles.

The Honda Fit is nice, but if they had an AWD option and maybe 140 hp from the Civic, I would definately buy it.

miata is a foofoo, but you certainly get alot for the buck. in terms of the 3 series, you have many ppl buying this car, so its incorporated into the list. the 3 series isnt necessarily the best bang for the buck. but a preowned is another story...

Even pre-owned isn't. They hold their value very well.

what happened to the Malibu/impala? CD&D was all over that saying it was better than the accord but yet it did not return?

I really like the new CTS design as well. I'm contemplating trading the Cayenne in for a new '09 CTS-V...or maybe wait for the V-coupe version.

As far at stigma, I think that's generally associated with the E'Lades.

I think you mean MotorTrend.

In this review

Accord was first, Malibu 3rd.
