Is it me, or does that bitch look like a Maxima, more than the people at clublexus think a M45 look like one?

cover the front end of that picture with your hands (just the headlamps and the grill). then the rest of the body is definitly a maxima.

okay, you guys are going to think I'm even crazier... but look at the tail lights of these two cars:

I agree, from a distance its easy to confuse the two of these. But when it gets closer the Lexus stands out as being a much sexier car. I really like the understated styling of the new GS, its so sexy, yet it blends in with other cars without drawing attention to itself - to most people.

OK, you're crazy. Feel better? That's what you wanted, right? J/K.

On a serious note though, that Hyundai rear end is too damn close for comfort to Lexus' $40-60K GS.

I've got the previous gen GS (http://www.lexus-car-for-sale.com/img/gs430.jpg) and the new Buick LaCrosse (http://www.buick.com/lacrosse/index.jsp) front end is too damn close for comfort.

Yeah, it kinda does look like a Maxima now that you mention it but the interior of the Maxima can't even come within a 50 mile radius of the Lexus interior.

for a 50k car, i would hope it would draw attention to itself. Otherwise, whats the point of paying that much for a car

only a little because they are both kinda bubbly looking and have the "fast back" look. you can tell a difference I think, but kinda look the same in certain respects also. Honestly I don't like the new GS as much as the old. I hate fast back looking car's, not sexy at all to me.

Same basic concept, with far better results with the GS.

The Maxima is just ugly and it easily could have been fixed.

Not this again. For the gazillionth time people, the GS had that short-deck design since the 2nd gen. It's the Maxima that copied the Lexus, not the other way around. The 3rd gen GS is just an evolution of the 2nd gen's look. About the only thing where I can see Lexus copying Nissan is the shape of the bumper.

It's just like people who say the new Mercedes ML SUV looks like a Kia. That's because the Kia copied the 1st gen Mercedes to begin with.

I hate those cheesy rubber/plastic strips that's on the lower doors on the new GS, it almost looks like a running board from far away. WTF is that all about?

just the roofline looks the same between both cars.

i think the M45 just kills both of those cars to the ground.

IIRC, Consumer Reports called the Infiniti M 'the best sedan they've ever tested' (paraphrase). Come to think of it, I cant think of any published comparison where the M didnt beat the GS. The stereo system alone sells me on the M.

Back to the GS/Max comparison, I personally think the profile on the 3G Alti resembles the 2G GS far more than the 6G Maxima. (Copy? maybe. )

i thought this the first time i saw these cars. the sonata also kind of looks like the accords, they straight copied the styling on the best selling sedans ahaha, looks like its paying off though because i see lots of the new sonatas on the road.

The car honestly looks like a pig even with those wheels in comparison to the m45 thread.

There are only so many ways to design a sedan. Yes, many of them look porky now. Maybe because they are heavy.

The Maxima looks like it could be an earlier model of the GS. Wayyy too much resemblance. My friend who has an older GS saw the new GS (before they came out) and said right away that it looked like a Maxima.

Oh yea, and that's a sexy black M!
