California Car Duster Scratched My Car
I bought a California car duster to dust my car, and on the package it said "Guaranteed not to scratch you car."
Well, WTF is the guarantee?
It scratched my car.
I have contacted the car company http://www.calcarduster.com/ to see what they would do to fix my car.
Anyone else have this problem?

I've seen them and it doesn't make sense to me. How could it not scratch your car when you're essentially gathering dust particles and dragging them across the paint?

Sorry to hear about your car. I hope it wasn't damaged too badly. Did it leave a few longish scratches or swirl marks?
That being said, I'm on my fourth California Duster. I've used them on everything from original decades old lacquer to expensive two stage finishes without a problem. In fact there are cars that I only wash once a year, using the duster to clean off the paint finish when driven a few times during the summer. I make sure, however, the car is washed and waxed before I use it, and NEVER on a finish exposed to anything but dust. I never allow the weight of the duster to fully sit on the car as well, instead holding it so it just makes contact with the surface.
Was it a new duster? Sometimes a new duster will leave marks that look very similar to scratches, but it's actually just wax residue. Let me know what the company's response is. I'm kind of curious.

OP you missed an important step.

I rarely disparage car care tools because I know a lot of their effectiveness comes from the user; but in my experience california dusters generally lead to swirls. On older cars they weren't an issue, the paint was harder and more difficult to scratch. On modern cars with water based clear coats, well...

I think the OP was using it wrong....never had a problem with mine....I use it on occasion...but never any scratches.

hmm odd.
my general rules:
shake it out so that everything is loose and clean,
make sure my car isnt so dirty no amount of dusting would help (i.e. if i can see loose particle of dust that i cant blow away or flat out dirt and residue, then i shouldnt be using it),
make sure the car isnt hot (i.e. hasnt been sitting in the sun or just driven),
let it glide (make multiple passes) and shake it out periodically (i'm a stickler, i shake it out like after every pass LOL)
