I know it's not entirely comparable and is a 10 year old car at this point - damn - but it has a nicer interior - and runs 9.8 @ 153 - and can be road-raced if desired, at lower boost.

flamesuit on.
To each his own. I have never liked the Supra's interior. In fact, my friend just got an 03 996 TT and the interior is nice, but it's nothing special. Speed costs money and that's where GM chose to invest theirs in. I am sure that GM could have loaded up the Z06 with luxury features. It will also add weight and cost. GM won't have any problems selling the Z06, so why fix what isn't broke?

OK - we're talking about different things. You are talking about design, I am talking about fit, finish, and materials. And - I never doubted they would have trouble selling them.

The 996 interior is solid as a rock - fit and finish is what it should be for a $100k car - materials, fit, and finish. Same goes for the Supra. And, I agree the interior DESIGN of the Supra is not the best - as well as for the 996.

I am also talking materials and fit/finish. The C6 I drove was a huge improvement from the C5 and it wasn't something I would complain about quality wise. I appreciate nice craftmanship and have sat in some of the nicer interiors, but the 996 didn't knock my socks off. Maybe I was expecting too much since everyone raves about it. It is no where near up to the quality of my dads old A8 nor his 545i.

No, sports cars do not have luxury car interiors. But they can have NICE interiors. If you are looking for a luxury car interior, then no, you should not buy a sports car.

I have also heard the interior of the C6 is much better than the C5 - and that's good.

That's why I don't knock the Vette's interior. If you want a luxury car interior, well then buy one. The Vettes interior is "nice", but who cares when you are going thru the gears.

Damn...I really wouldn't mind having one...

Mediocre interior and all, I'd take it.

The C6 interior is not bad at all. It is light years ahead of the C5 interior and definitely much better than my 350Z's interior. It's not the best in the market, but it's not terrible either. As I said earlier, the picture in this thread does not do it justice. It's quite decent in person.

Jeez, this town is C6-obssessed. Saw about 5 or 6 C6's today, all different.
