C55 AMG vs SC E46 M3

I found this on another board and thought I might share with you guys. I was pretty suprised at how the M3 pulled away so easily. I thought the Supercharged V8 would do a lot better.

Damn, thats a quick M3. I thought the C55 was the N/A 5.5l V8? It would be interesting to see how a supercharged version would do.

Is it really NA? Then it's no suprise.

Edit: You're right, it is. For some reason I thought it had the same engine as the E55s.

That motor cant be just supercharged. The M motor is very known for having problems with boost. I wonder if it has internal work. That benz should have shitted on the M, especially that Modded TT 911 a few vids down.

Edit. If it were supercharged, the benz should have shitted on it. But he porsche

There is a AA SC out for the M3 but its expensive and I dont think it gives huge gains.

I seen video of a SC M3 vs a Stock M3 and it doesnt pull hard as it should.

Yep, but it's more a drivers race on the M owners part if it is an M6. The E55, thats another level the m will have a hard time touching.

The M3 probably has motor work done and a s/c...not a very fair race. Throw a kleemann s/c on the c55 and then race.

I don't get it. And a 5.5L V8 vs a 3.2L I6 is a fair race? If that's how you look at it, then you should add 2 cylinders and 2.3L of displacement to the M3.

It's not a fair race any way you look at it, although they are pretty close to each other stock...in a straight line.

Speed is speed.

A Lotus Elise could hang in pretty close with both of these cars in a straight line (i said hang, not beat) and that's 4 cyl with 190 hp.

I think that would be a fair race.

That M3 had 500 RWHP according to a vid below it.

A race against a stock C55 is not gonna be fair when hes making more power at the wheels than the Benz at the crank.

And the M definetly had internal work to hit those numbers. Like bigman said, M3 motors don't like boost much.
