C32, M3, or G35
Which car would you get: the BMW M3, the Mercedes C32, or the Infiniti G35 Coupe?
Also, does anyone have any suggestions for anything similar that can be had for under $40k used?

based on looks alone, M3
any reason why you threw the G35C in there? Like Chaptorial, it wouldn't be an option for me if I could afford an M3 or C32.

I was thinking along the lines of pricing for a G35C brand new and the other two used.
In other words, what would be the best performance luxury car under $40k new or used?

M3 1st pick.....drive all 3 and you'll see why.
C32 is a nice car and fast but its not an M3. Good choice if you don't care about driving dynamics, the fact that you can't get a manual, and don't mind having a 4dr . The interior also is kind of weak for its price point.
G35....not a fan, so it would be 3rd for me out of your choices. Plus its simply not in the same league as the M3 or C32.

M3 is the best looking BMW in my opinion. But considering the $15k+ price difference between it and the G, I don't think it is worth the extra dollars. I somehow can not connect Benz vehicles with "performance" no matter how fast the Benz is, so I would not consider the C32 AMG. So my choice would be:
1. Infiniti G35 coupe
2. BMW M3
3. Mercedes-Benz C32 AMG
You can get a fully loaded C35 coupe for under $40k.

The G35 doesn't really fit in with this list of cars... I'd go with the M3 first. The C32 really doesn't do it for me, so it would either be the M3 or G35c (far second) I guess

STOP fantasizing about M3 and C32 .
I'd rather get brand new G35 coupe aroung $32K then invest in Greddy Twin Turbo kit or Power Enterprise Turbo (when it comes out) and destroy any stock M3 or C32.
In addition, to the above mentioned setup you can get ECU reflash, headers and exhaust including installation for the price of any used M3 (e46). G35 got some balls

True M3 is icon, however mods for M3 are $$$$$$ and can bring to a ridiculous financial level and the car pretty much enough tuned.
My vote still goes to G35 and here is why:
Greddy TT kit: $6000
installation: $2000
Stillen:
Headers: $998
Exhaust: $1216
Race Pipes: $297
--------------
Installation: $400 est.
TechnoSquare, Inc.
ECU reflash: $580
----------------------
Total: $11,491
G35 coupe:
$32,500 + tax ~ $34500
above mods: $11,491
--------------------
Total: $45,991
$45991 = used M3 (e46) or
or for the price of $56000 (new M3) you can add rims/tires/tein ss coilovers/tints and still leave $$$ in your pocket.
... and your G35 will be unique in terms of "show" and "go".
Just my 02 cents.

Does any car manufactury offers a warranty for aftermarket parts?
If money is not an issue, go ahead reward yourself with M3...
I would still pick the G35 :P

a couple of test drives. I thought the cabin was a bit cramped and the back seats lacked the room/comfort....now my experience is based on 30mins total driving time against your fulltime ownership

An M3 can equipped to have the same or more features than the C32. The interior is weak in regard to quality, the current Cclass just has a rather plasticy and chintzy interior (especially for what they cost new).
