Angry Bye bye, TSX

I know you all love your cars, but for me, the TSX has been the worst automotive experience of my life.

First, I owned a 2004 that rattled, squeaked, coughed, and choked through multiple repairs to the clutch, air conditioning, doors, windows, and electrical system. It was bad enough for the car to be replaced after 12 months.

So, with a brand new 2005 TSX, I was optimistic about getting the car that I thought the TSX should be. We all make mistakes, right? Honda is no different, and they did step up to the plate and help out with the '04.

Only one problem: with the '05 TSX, Honda did it to me twice. Multiple repair visits were required for the sun roof (completely replaced) the battery (creating serious doubt in my mind about the long term viability of the electrical system), the radio, the brakes (would not maintain normal specs, creating shudders and shakes) and more rattles, squeaks, and shimmies than a $12,000 car should have, much less a $28,000 Acura.

Now 24 months and multiple repair shop visits later, the TSX is gone, traded, out the door, never to bother me again.

My new car is a Mazda 6, and believe it or not it is fantastic. Tight, quiet, quick, and comfortable, with every option that my TSX had. And for a lot less money.

Farewell, TSX board. I hope each of you has a better experience with Acura that I did.

Good luck with the 6. You definitely had more problems than I have had with my '04.

Sounds like you just got unlucky.

I've had an 04 and now have an 06 and both have been rock solid.

I have to agree, every manufacturer has cars where there a few that just are shyt compared to all the other cars in that same model.

Good luck with the 6!

Sadly, getting that 6 won't be any better. Saw a new one leaving a big white cloud of smoke when leaving a light. No it wasen't from the tires.

The Honda/Acura reliability-quality standard is slowly becoming a myth.

Congrats on the new ride. I drove a lot of TSX's when I had my CL. They were always pretty solid cars, but I only had them a week at a time.

Good luck with the 6.

It happens. People ask me how come my Trans Am doesnt squeak, rattle, make noises and i say because mine is a 4th gen ver.2, they took care of all those problems. People go into buying a honda/acura/toyota, thinking they are getting the best, but sometimes the opposite happens. I had a TL and loved every minute it wasnt in the shop, but after multiple transmissions, i had enough.

I'm the opposite of your story. I left my 05 Mazda6 V6 Mt for a Honda. I had maddening clutch problems that rob the life out of shifting and said good riddance to Mazda pretty much forever.

Its too bad, the 6 any trim is a fun, sharp handling car with a very sporty feel. Could use a lot more power in both 4 and 6 cylinder version though.

Sadly quality problems plague all the Acura lines besides the RL... those who don't have issues love to pipe up and make it clear. But when you simply go read the forums on here there's stickys related to the issues we bring up since so many people have had them. Can't deny that...

Good luck on the next purchase... I'm with ya. I'm going to go buy a domestic next too. Save me some $$ and I'll get the same quality if not better. Plus I can get RWD and a more powerful engine.

I have an 06 6MT Honda Accord now. It's been nothing but great to me. Before that I had a '96 2.5TL. So far I've had good experiences with Honda. These days it's all about luck. Mazda isn't perfect either. You coulda got a bad one too but you didnt.

Wow, sorry to hear that. Good luck with the Mazda. And I agree, it is quite disappointing when you purchase a "luxury brand" automobile and have those types of problems.

I think all cars start to rattle over time though, but just not out of the box. I wonder if there is a way to remedy that (from the factory). There has to be.

I hate to say it, but yeah...my CR-V emits a high pitched noise throughout the cabin once every few minutes when the A/C is turned on. Not a deal breaker for me, but it's so annoying.

Dealership say they can't duplicate the problem

And now with the weather changing, the tire pressure monitoring light on the dash keeps going on and off, and the "check gas cap" light comes and goes also.

I'm wishing for the best and just hoping nothing major is actually going to go wrong, as these are minor.
