Bubble in Tires
Bubble in Tires
Okey doke folks, I'm in quite the little pickle here, so I'd appreciate some insight! Thanks in advance. Here's my story
On Thursday I noticed a HUGE bubble in my passenger's side front tire, I'm talking massive. I wasn't going to risk driving on that thing, so I quickly changed the tires. I know exactly what happened, as well. I turned a sharp corner and hit a nasty pothole that was just off to the right on the road surface, rendering it invisible to me from the driver's seat. Anyway, I was now on my donut spare, and Nokian agreed to pay for a replacement tire since it was brand new.
On Friday, I noticed my (way older) rear tire also had a bubble, presumably from the same gaping pothole. This bubble is significantly smaller, and doesn't look quite as ominous. I'm calling westchester county on Monday since it was County road that I hit this pothole on. I know from my last such experience that I need to wait to get the tire fix until I see what the county wants from me in terms of estimates and such. So my question is this, I've already got the donut on the car, is it safe to use the car with a small bubble in the rear tire until I hear back from the county? I plan on calling them tomorrow, and certainly won't be taking the car on any expressways or the like, just tooling around town to get food and what not. Thanks!!

You'll make it another day just fine.
One of the thing that pisses me off about donuts is that you'd think they could at least make sure that they have the same circumference as the other tires.

I drove around (unknowingly) with a small bubble on a tire for a month on my cls... When I noticed it, I knew it was from going over a curb (ice and snow down a hill), but it was fine.
I think driving on it for awhile will be ok, but don't overdo it..

It makes you look like a fool driving around on a spare that has a smaller diameter than the rest of the tires! Your car sinks down on one side and feels and looks retarded to drive...
