Then I think I closed my eyes and heard a loud bang

The girl had fallen asleep at the wheel and totaled her volvo. 6 grand in repairs for the RDX. I was very lucky that I wasn't hurt. She must have hit me at about 40 mph.

Anyways, I think tensing or bracing for impact isn't always a bad thing.
99.9% of the time it is bad to tense up. When your body is limp you are much less likely to injure yourself in impacts.

Very true. Of course that's not a guarantee, but it's more likely.

My girlfriend's neighbors were on their way home from the beach when the son fell asleep at the wheel and rolled the car. Luckily the rest of the family was asleep as well so they didn't get injured.

SERIOUSLY.

the only justifiable reason i can think of, is that she ran out of ingredients to cook with, and her husband was at work

That sucks.

Probably another one of these dumbass drivers who waits until the last minute to hit the brakes. I have friends who do this, & I never ride with them anymore for fear of rear-ending someone.

Not to be off topic, but this is EXACTLY why when I'm on my bike it's in gear, one foot on the ground, and continually glancing in my mirrors. If I'm behind another vehicle, the bike is pointed towards the opening along side the car.

Eff that this negro would have hopped a curb to get out of the way of that shizz.

Speaking of getting out of the way, I was on I-80 heading eastbound toward schereville indiana and it was during rush hour of course so basically everyone is doing 60-80 mph on it and all I see in front of me are break lights, so i put hazards on and slowly get in the brakes, but as I look up in the rear view I see this Ford Expedition still flying, I swerved to the shoulder since I was in the far right lane, and he plowed right into the back of a buick regal that I guess must have been an 80 year old couple.

Cops ask me for a witness statement and guy driving the ford had to go to the hospital, I think he was texting or some shit, needless to say that could have been my CL.

I'd be livid. What an idiot. You couldn't even hear tires skidding as an attempt to stop...don't bother getting out or reacting either.

I look in my rear view mirror all the time at stop lights. If I see someone coming behind me that's not going to stop, I'm letting off the brake. Sorry about the car in front of me...

If that had occurred in New Brunswick NJ, the police probably would have cited the Challenger driver with failing to observe a traffic signal. Seriously.

I must be the only person that found this video funny. I was seeing it like the Challenger was this slick dude pulling up to a chick saying, "hi, nice day we're hav.." then this big fat redneck personified as a pickup (I do see them pretty much one and the same IRL) just pushes the dude completely out of sight and is like "how you doin', sweet cheeks?"

No but I did a great job of working my way around the traffic in getting to my home in Somerset. Though I'm a former Rutgers student, I'd no idea the traffic was attributable to Rutgersfest....and it's consequences. (I actually thought the traffic was due to the cancellation of Northeast Corridor train service that evening due to an extremely messy trespasser fatality @ Jersey Avenue.)

That said, the cops in NB are heavy handed with all but the actual criminals.....probably because a few of them are criminals with badges.

in my years hanging at rutgers, it always seems like NB cops will go to the ends of the earth to pursue petty shit while ignoring murder-raperies occuring around the corner =/

did not hear about that fatality though They are cancelling rutgers fest after this year. it was out of control, apparently.
