Congratulations H, and happy belated as well !
Hope all is well for you.
And I won't lie, was secretly hoping for an AM too.

Mark!
Dang it, dude...where have you been? Hope all is well!
And yeah...no AM until when I'm close to retiring, methinks.

Development: So, we are trading in the Mazda3 and getting a decent value for it. Obviously, there is a time-sensitivity for it from the dealership's perspective. Therefore, they are trying to locate a Countryman S with the specifications we wanted and they have found a near-match with one difference: the roof is white versus the black we had specified originally.
So, we can either take this car (w/ the white roof) or build the one we want but potentially lose more in our trade-in given it will push out delivery by another month.

Wait for the Mini you want and ordered as you seem to keep your cars for a long time, no sense in settling for a few hundred dollars if you're keeping it for years.

The problem is, the near-match got snagged by another dealership and sold. So, we had to go with Plan B...the one with the white roof.
Now, from yesterday, they did maintain that given the flux of Mazda3s in the market, by April, they can't give us more than $5500. So, that still stands. I know...it seems awfully severe for a 1 month difference.
So, I'm thinking of path least resistance. I don't care about the roof color so much as Tina...and will need to talk to her. Naturally, if she must have a black roof, the deal may be off. And I'm guessing if we start over in negotiations, I won't get $7000 for the Mazda.

$7 grand or $5.5 grand....
For less than $1500 bucks you can get the roof painted black.

Definitely get the near match and get the roof painted. It only cost me $200 to get my roof painted which is much better than taking a $1500 hit just to get your roof black from the factory.

Yup, chatted with the wife and while she's disappointed in not getting her exact preference, it's not the end of the world and well, not worth $1500 either.
We'll go with the white on white-roof.
Waiting to hear back from the sales guy...

1500!? I was thinking maybe a 200 to 300 $ dollars at most.
Good thinking, a vinyl wrap might be your best bet.

Still, the Countryman does have its charm. We're happy with the purchase.

Welcome to the world of German automobiles.
If the MINI service in the land of the Eskimo is anything like down here, you are going to love it.

Quick question for the peeps who have runflat-tires...Would you purchase runflat winters or just regular winter tires for the car?
