BMW "thunk" guy or Audi "thunk" guy?

Which auto maker do you believe makes a better car from all aspects and why? For years and years this argument has been present.
I myself (obviously) am an Audi guy. I just honestly have never been a big fan of BMW's.

Actually, according to my sig, I've owned two BMWs. I'm not brand-loyal for the sake of being brand-loyal. I'm intrigued by the S6, for example. I love Audi interiors and BMW has nothing to compete with the R8. On the flip-side I think the 6 Gran Coupe is probably worth the $ premium over the A7 just on looks alone. Like I said, it depends on the model.

Really the 6 series Gran Coupe? Its so ugly imo. The comparable bmw to the A7 would be the 640XI which has a base price thats more than a fully loaded A7. I would go A7 over 640XI, S7 over 650Xi and RS7 over M6 Gran Coupe. The A7 has been know as one of the most beautiful recent cars. The 6 gran coupe not so much...
Would you go and why?
RS5 or M3
S6 or M5
S8 or 750I

Fan of both manufactures.

I still say the perfect car would be the design of the Audi but driving the dynamics of a BMW.

However in my opinion, i prefer the looks of the 6 series grand coupe over the A7.

I don't know if you have seen one in person but the M6 Gran Coupe is gorgeous. More so than the A7 which I think is a disappointment.

Fan of both.

Overall Audis design does more for me these days. But some bimmers turn my head (X6, 6 Gran Coupe, etc) I'm more a big fan of older bimmers (80s and older)

Alright. The Audi just does it with a hell of a lot more class and exclusivity and ive got a badass V8 under the hood not a inline-6.

you're arguing something that is subjective.

I like the A/S7...personally, I think the 6 Gran Coupe is bimmers BEST looking sedan...and trumps both Audi...and the always has been shit ugly CLS.

But thats my opinion

If memory serves...Audis newer supercharged V6 S models outperform the outgoing V8 versions.

Just sayin

Yes that is correct. My dads 2011 S5 cab has the 3.0T and his will out perform me in a straight line but only by about half a car length so not a big difference. But would you rather have a V8 or a V6? But he has a STaSIS chip. So hes about 410 and I'm only 350.

I'm a fan of linear power...so personally, I would pick a v8 if the numbers are there (see what I drive) but I think Audi's got a better grasp on the FI world with a lot more potential in those engines and their ease and cost of modding vs modding their lower displacement V8.

So, while I am a huge V8 fan...I think with Audi I would take the 3.0T if given the choice.

The 3.0T is an absolutely fantastic engine don't get me wrong. But i don't believe the .3 seconds from 0-60 is worth the amazing exhaust note from the 4.2 liter V8 with the AWE pipes.

Well...NO higher resonate german v8 will beat the sound of loud raw american high displacement v8

As much as I loved driving a S4 Avant with the 4.2...I always disliked the exhaust note for a v8 engine.

We get it, your S5 is indeed a fantastic car. I'd rather have an M3 but I'd take an S5 any day as well....

American cars at this point are the best they have been in awhile and i still dont like them. The germans make a far superior car in my opinion.

Never been a huge BMW fan. Outside of some of the M models... BMW never really did much for me. I'm definitely an Audi fan, but also a Mercedes fan.

PS - added a poll for you...

Audi is my choice between the two, however I find myself building this on the BMW site quite often

$58k with options and it's only a 328d

Curse you Audi for not offering the A4 or A6 Avant in the US! I don't want a stupid Allroad

OP creates a thread asking opinions and then bashes the ones he disagrees with. Nice.

I agree with ttribe - it all depends on the model.

I feel the same way.

I prefer Audi to BMW, but BMW wagons are really nice.

I am interested in the S3 sedan. I hope Audi changes their mind and brings the hatchback version to the U.S. If not, then I might consider a Golf R.

I'm only designing the BMW wagons because Audi only currently offers the Allroad here

It's crazy how many models Audi offers in Britain but not the US. Take a look and design some

http://www.audi.co.uk/

I do like hatchbacks but I really want a wagon of some sort, ideally an Avant

I know. It is like rubbing salt in an open wound. I'd love an S4 Avant or S3 Sportback. Even an A4 Avant with the right options. They even get better wheel choices. What bull$h!t.
