I was reading in a Greek portal about BMW entering the American Le Mans with a new car derived from the M COupe although looking like it comes from the M3. Photo below.

The Germans are using a 4 liter V8 with the race car called the M3 GTR and in order to homologate the car they based it on the M Coupe which is using a V8! As far as I know the M Coupe now is using the same I6 the M3 is using only detuned to make 315HP not 333HP. Of course that is so in the US. Has anyone heard of a V8 M Coupe?

You cant. There are only 4 made up to now to participate at the ALMS.

By the way, the engine of the GT makes 400HP at 7500 rpm and 480NM (355 lb-ft) at 5500 rpm of torque. The car weighs 1120 kilos or 2466 pounds.

That car looks like the new M3, but wider and faster. The M coupe kinda looks like the Z3 or M roadster with a hatch back. I'm pretty sure that the M coupe has 240hp in the US, same as the old M3 and M roadster.

Oops... you're right... the new 2001 M coupe has 315hp.
