BMW guys, question

Hola, as are a couple here I was looking at a CL-S, but wasn't able to stomach another coupe, even if it was just like my accord on crack (very good crack, LOVE the interior).

Anywho, for my daddy's toy I'm going to opt for a Z3 instead, but the z3.bimmer.org board sucks, old school board, not too many responses and half the posts are cyt talking about how glad he is that vidterry is gone, politics suck

You guys know of any good Z3 boards? I know it's the wrong place but you all seem to have the 411 on the goods like this

Thanks,

Ginnie

Just to let you know...im not big on the z3. The M roadster is another story. Id take an S2000 over a z3 any day. Sorry...dont know any good Z3 forums.

Well I'd love an M also, but my price range is low 30's and plus I don't like driving stick as I do a crapload of city driving so a steptronic shift is awesome for me and the 2001 2.5 and 3.0's have that.

the S2000's are cool and I'm a Honda guy, but even then, I can't always ride around at 9k rpms

I know this is off the question, however the Z3 is built in South Carolina. I don't know if you want that type of car. I heard they aren't too well built and cause problems, regardless of what the dealers says (they just want to sell you the car).

As for the website to ask for about BMWs, I got two:

First one is big and lots of users (unorganized) www.bimmer.org

Second one (selfish promotion), www.bmwexperience.com and I have a BMW section setup. We have some knowledgable people on there who respond quick (not as quick as the bimmer.org but still its quick).

Hope you find what your looking for! Good luck!

I don't think I'll ever understand people who find the Z3 attractive or a worthwhile buy. It's (relatively) slow and IMHO kinda ugly.

There's so many other 2seater cars that look better, perform better, or both for about the same price.

yeah the z3's have a couple issues, but with proper care on the rear window, the 00's and 01's have had the lowest amount of TSB's and other problems since.

I used to hate BMW's reliability record but they're starting to get a little better, that said the z3 folks at bimmer.org constantly gripe about their 96/97's.

But it's the roadster I can afford and love the looks of, for the most part they're great cars.

I wasn't a big fan of the z3 til I sat and tried a 2001 3.0, that changed my mind for sure. There are other options, the TT is too bubbly for me and too expensive, the s2k is manual only and I'm not impressed with the interior or where vtec kicks in. The mr2 and miata are just too small and 'cute' and the slk is outta my range as well.

I wanted a vette as my 2nd choice, but it's 2nd because it's also unaffordable for a newer version.
