Are you trying to get banned...geez us your like a little kid asking for more but yet we can't do anything about it because we have to talk through this computer. Would you talk to CL owners like this in the real world? I didn't think so.

Hey M3Racer:

Do I have to call State Farm on you? I traced your IP and I'm sure your employer would love to hear of your work ethic?

Look, his first post and every one I've read from him since have all been trolls. He's probably someone on the DTMPower forum trying to stir up some shit.

He would have been banned after his first post here if I was a mod, but I guess the mods here are too busy Christmas shopping to ban people or whatever.

Keep in mind that most of the people on this board bought their cars new and spent about $30K. If everyone wanted a BMW, they could easily have gotten a well-equipped year-old 3 series for about the same price. Incidentally, the trade-in value of your car is $15K according to KBB - that's half the value of a new CL. By the way, I think BMW's are incredibly well engineered cars. The car I traded in for my TL-S was a '97 C36 AMG. I chose the Acura for a number of reasons - but it wasn't about what I could or couldn't afford. As you mature, you'll understand that your values change with experience and you become less concerned about what other people think of you. In addition to the TL-S and MDX I have, I own a $450K home. You?

Maybe that's him. If so, he still lives in San Jose, CA. But this tool here claims he has no mods. That guy has springs.

I really doubt used 95 M3's are so sought after. New M3's for sure, but definitely not 6 year old used ones, especially ones with no mods at all.

You know I looked at Beemer's and the dealer I work for sells them too.But you know what I really do not want one mostly because everybody already has one .If money were not as much of an issue I'll take a Nissan Skyline GTR ,now that is different!!!!

actually 95 are sought after more the the 96-99 e36 models. it is the last model with OBD I and was the last year before the us models started getting dumbed down to promote understeer instead of oversteer..

I already got my BMW ('01 X5 4.4i) for Christmas. Too bad I can't return it eventhough I have a receipt. Now, if this BMW only had the same quality of an Acura.

I also have a Acura CLS that is much more reliable then my X5 (that costs almost twice as much as my Acura).

Welcome to the board, it is funny that the X5 is not known to have amazing quality- even though its built in the US, the Z3 and Mroadster/coupe don't have half the problems that the X5 seems to have.

Regardless, I like the X5

maybe for this wussy drag racing everyone seems to be interested in.. but for ~25k plus a racing dynamics 380hp engine for 14k you have a killer car that would spank the new m3 and just about anything else.. also if you know how to drive it doesnt matter what your driving, you will always be faster that a poser with money..

nguyenv? What does the v stand for? Anyways, welcome to the board.

As for the X5/CL quality debate, it's hard to tell since your comparison is made on a singular basis. Maybe you got a particularly good CL (I hope so) and a bad X5. Reliability is dependent on cost cutting, and that is the main problem with cars today.

There are many cars out there that seem to be easier to mod which fall into the non-mandated OBDI era. Many Honda's and Mitsubishi’s seem to be the same way. I would suspect that the '95 M3 would be the same.

However, being a road vehicle they are still required to pass the same emission requirements as an OBDII '96 M3 in most geographic areas. But some mods can hose this with OBDI vehicles. So it can be a toss up IMO. But if you are racing it, go with Electromotive, etc. system but be sure it works in the class...

On the understeer issue, I somewhat side with the manufacturer. BMW's market has grown and with that comes the problems. Some people don't know how to handle the vehicle properly. Understeer is easier to recognize and correct on before trouble erupts. But I do feel BMW has done a great job of having little understeer while providing the means to promote oversteer as needed. Heck, I can even somewhat throttle steer with my wife’s E46 328i.

There is no hope to have the same balance in the CL-S, but I still enjoy its ability. The CL-S vs. 3 series in handling is very different and only vulnerable at above 90% capability. Having driven mostly FWD vehicles, some very powerful, you get a feel for how to make it perform. Just adding the requisite CL content…

I see what your saying but not too many people consider the new M3 to be wussy racing plus it's exterior and interior styling blows the 95's out of the water.

Enjoy your Buick!
