I am sure the 5-series drives better, but the A6 is actually nice to look at and to be in. It would be my choice.
A6 4.2 suspension is known to be on the harsh side.

very hard choice... hmmm.... i vote a6.
would be a much harder decision if it were up against a 535xi. not counting the 550 since i'm sure you're looking for AWD.

For those voting Audi, have you driven it? 
I had an A6 as a loaner and it was very comfy but the steering was numb as hell. Granted it wasnt the 4.2 but still.
Otherwise i loved it. Very classy inside and out. Way nicer looking than a 530xi. But still... i dunno.

Eh i think he just gets bored/curious. Course he will lie and say he sold the STI, thats the only way we would take him seriously with this poll.

my dad has a 530xiT. It is pretty nice. I still don't really like the idrive, but it definitely feels solid and drives pretty nice. My dad really didn't want run flats either. He bought his used w/ the 100,000mi warranty, and already got a full brake service out of it. It really doesn't have a whole lot of features though, but his might just be a pretty barebones model.
I haven't driven the A6, so I have nothing to compare it to.
