I never said the BMW driver was excused for acting like an asshat. I just said that I wouldn't want somebody following me on a twisty road either. I know its a public road thats why I said I'd just let him by and continue on at my own pace....

You proceeded to follow me all the way to my parking place before giving me a look and going on your way to, I assume, the DMV where you work.
I offer you these common sense tips:
1. Tailgating is a dick move, and it's even more of a dick move if the guy in front of you is already well above the speed limit on a well-patrolled road.
2. If you are tailgating someone and they slow down, that's your cue to pass and if you can't pass, well then screw you because you are being a dick anyway.
3. It actually makes sense to leave some distance for you too. Have you seen all the deer carcasses on the road? That's because cars hit them. If a deer jumps in front of me and I have to slam on the brakes, I don't want you crashing into me. Based on your body, your reaction time is only fast in World of Warcraft.

Wow. That guy utterly typifies the BMW douche. I swear, some people are constantly just looking to pick a fight. I have driven Calaveras Rd. many, many times, mainly to and from work when I used to commute between the east bay and south bay. It's a great road -- very fun to drive and quite picturesque. Mainly it's a nice break from 680 traffic.
Based on my experiences, you can bank on being tailgated if you are going particularly slowly and/or don't safely pull over to let people pass. Most people either pull over and let the person pass, increase their speed to satisfy the other driver, or content themselves will having the person behind them.
The MS3 driver gave the BMW douche AMPLE room compared to what people usually give on Calaveras. There was no reason to get upset. He was obviously just pissed that the shitbox was able to keep up with his vastly overpriced car.

I think what he meant by "vastly overpriced" was the fact that the BMW simply costs a lot more than the Mazda. I doubt he meant to imply that the 335i is vastly overpriced, because it's actually pretty reasonably priced in that segment.
