I think the dude in the MS3 handled it well, but could have said this just as he was leaving, " If I'm in a shitbox, try keeping up with me!"

Huh? You could have fit at least a bus or two between them. The MS3 driver gave plenty of room...

Same here. It seemed to make the BMW douche even more agitated which is what made the MS3 driver's response even better

I had a similar spirited run with an E92 M3 recently (I was in the Mazda's position) and when I pulled up next to the bimmer guy we both smiled and gave eachother a thumbs up. So, I really cant say all bimmer owners are like the douche in the video. That guy just sucks at life. I do give the Mazda owner credit--I would have reacted differently.

alright alright relax..

and just noticed some of you said that they wouldn't like someone riding their ass when they are trying to have fun.. It's a freaking public road and mazda driver gave him like 2 bus lengths in between.

It's a single lane road, if you are uncomfortable of driving 2 bus lengths in front some type of shitbox, then just go ahead and pull up on the side, so the box can simply pass you.

what an idiot

I'm Mr. Devil's Advocate but I don't see any reason why he needed to react that way. I've driven Calaveras Rd. many times and there are plenty of places where you can pull over into the shoulder, and many people have, to let me pass them. I've actually followed people even closer than that and I've never had a problem with someone getting angry.

Who knows what some people think when they're being "followed." I've been about a bus length behind a car on a road similar to that one, going the speed limit, when the car pulls over and lets me pass. I just shrug and think "whatever..."

As if they think the car behind them should maintain a distance of +100 feet at all times...

I've had the same thing happen to me once. I was going the speed limit and following like several bus lengths behind someone on a windy road and they end up pulling over. I couldn't help but laugh my ass off at them it was so ridiculous.

This is what I see here:

BMW pulls out in front to get ahead of the Mazda. BMW realizes he is cutting it close and speeds up to avoid the Mazda getting too close from behind. Mazda races up behind him and tries to catch him. Guy keeps trying to create a distance. Mazda keeps racing up from behind. Guy get's pissed because he thinks the Mazda was just trying to catch the BMW because it cut him off....

I don't think it was a race and the guy was mad that he lost. I think it was a safety concern.

^ Definitely possible but still, the Mazda was no where near being on his ass and the BMW driver's reaction was completely unnecessary.

If what you typed was 100% true, the BMW should have just moved over when there was room on the shoulder and let the Mazda pass. If it really was a safety concern, that would have been the safest maneuver. Instead, he reacted like a douche, stopped in the middle of the road, and got aggressive with the Mazda driver (which can get him hurt or killed since you never know how the other driver will react).

He probably did the most unsafe things you could... all in a row.

Exactly my thought.

Also, that WASN'T enough room, if for example a deer jumped out and the 335 decided to slam on the brakes.

Either way they BOTH shouldn't have been driving that fast on local roads.

Or maybe the MS3 guy will get shot next time he decides its "WWEEEEEE" fun to go as fast as the next random car in front of him and try to catch up to the wrong pissed off person at the moment.

No? I'm not kidding you. What if it happened to be some coked up drug dealer railing his way down that road in his 335 and his dumbass goes to catch up with him like its some video game in his MS3?

I'll spell it out for you. That's a potential shooting right there.

Ever consider not everyone on the road is level headed? The BMW driver is proof of that. See how he blew up on that guy? What if he just happened to be a crazy nut with a gun?

No need for names there cool guy. Last time I checked this was a discussion forum, my opinion doesn't make me anymore of an idiot than you happen to be.

Oh there was def some stupidity on the BMW drivers part. I just don't think what everyone here is saying is realistic. I don't think the BMW driver was pissed because a Mazda "kept up with him" so he pulled over and started screaming.

I have a feeling that Bimmer dude doesnt have many friends. I used to know a guy just like him (from what I can tell in the video). Stopped talking to him about 10 yrs ago. Don't miss him or his head-up-ass behavior.

I hope this goes insanely viral!! Get it on as many boards as you can.

Seriously? Now you can't even drive behind someone anymore? Guess we should all just stay at home all the time. Wouldn't want to bother some crazy by driving behind them at a safe distance.

If the MS3 driver was an asshole he could have ran the dude over right there. Who needs a gun when you've got a 3000+ lb hunk of metal?

Again.... I've actually driven on that very road in the video, and I followed complete strangers even closer than that, a carlength closer at times and for minutes at a time. People will respectfully signal early and then pull over to the side whenever there's a shoulder that's open. I've NEVER had a problem.

I know when I drive spiritedly I like to do it alone out there, unless its with someone I know is a good driver. You have no clue how a random driver behind you is at driving, next thing you know he can hit you from behind and make you fall off the cliff That BMW guy probably saw the MS3 keeping up well with him and he probably didnt want to get into an accident and I guess he just has a short fuse and his temper just blew up causing him to brake and get out and yell (which was stupid if he didnt want an accident to happen, think about another driver behind them spiritedly driving coming up on a blind turn at 50mph to see two stopped cars in front of him. Not good)

If I was driving spiritedly and some guy was trying to keep up or was keeping up, no matter the distance I would just stop driving that fast and slow down a bit. And wouldnt have pulled over unless he was riding my ass.

It doesn't matter what the 335i driver thought or felt.... he did NOTHING right. In the middle of Calaveras Rd. you could easily get shot and tossed over the side of the cliff and someone could jump in your car and drive off. It's basically in the middle of nowhere and one constant in life is you never know how crazy the next person you fuck with will be.

Road rage is NEVER, EVER a good idea.

I am glad the MS3 owner stayed calm, things can escalate quickly.

A friend of mine, a former MS3 owner, had a similar situation the other day. Except he decided it would be a good idea to flip off the guy that was yelling at him. My friend was followed to a burger King and was walking inside when the guy punched him in the side of the head then ran off.
