^ nope. I'm 16, we all just think people like them are cocky asses. He'll probably show the same attitude in court and get slapped with a fine.

^ Yea, I didn't mean to bash on all teenagers. My bad, if I sounded like it.
There are a lot of great teenagers that I know on AZ.

He'll continue pretending to be hot shit until he either wraps his car around a pole and save the bandwidth from being wasted unnecessarily, or he gets a big ticket and his mommy takes his keys away.

i know the right thing to do is just to pay up
but the smart thing is just to go to court and get mercy.
depending on what state you live in, theres a variety of different things that could happpen.
since its your first time, its likely to get dropped or significantly reduced. and if it doesn't work out you usually have to pay a small court fine.
when i was in highschool, i was very dumb and got a lot of speeding tickets. and since i always just called up a lawyer i knew, she would just make them go away. but obviously i never learned my lesson, and one time my lawyer couldnt make it go away and i had to pay the fine, the lawyer fees, and the court fees.
never got a ticket since. also invested in a top of the line detector...

Nobody is jealous because you got away with a ticket. Everyone is laughing at you because you think you're the shit, but you're not. Eventually you'll get into an accident at a high speed..... if you get paralyzed or die, it would mean NOTHING to any of us because you deserved it.
We all enjoy your presence.... if you haven't noticed yet, I'll put it out plainly. we're not laughing with you, we're laughing at you.

pttl, I said the cop wrote 95 on the ticket. Why ? I didnt BS him. He asked how fast I was going, I looked straight in his eyes and said "over 100" and he wrote 95. Also, I did that without license plates ! But it was completely legal bc registration was not complete at the time Charisma FTMFW !!!

u call that a big problem? I went 110 in 65 zone and got caught. He wrote 95 on the ticket tho (another Honda man?). I am still waiting for the trial date.
Before this, I got 2 tickets in 1 week from the same cop; 55 in 35 zone and 50 in 40 zone. He didnt show up in court Yep, people like me are lucky...

Just reading valeratj's posts, I am reminded of my own two teen kids: They swear they know so much but have little clue how ignorant they really are (nor how this ignorance comes across ever adult they come in contact with)......that is until something happens and they realize that the world does not operate according to their game plan (which is only recognized in teen fantasyland).
My son recently got a '95 in 65 zone' and we just had the court date reset (as per my attorney).

No room in
In PA, 30+ over the limit is an automatic license suspension... you really have to be careless to get caught doing that.
There is only one place I would even consider it, and that's racing someone on the highway with clear visibility of what's ahead, and knowledge of police locations on that hwy. And even then it would be a burst race followed by immediate slow down. You'd really have to be stupid to get caught - probably because you're driving that fast just for the sake of driving that fast.
And then pile that on top of the other two tickets. 55 in a 35? What is wrong with you? The slower limits are there for a reason - increased danger of a) pedestrians, b) other vehicles pulling out that you can't see way ahead, or c) dangerous road conditions. You wanna be the guy that gets someone killed because you're too cool to slow down? Or perhaps be the dead guy that got killed because he was too cool to slow down. As someone previously said, the latter is preferable if you're gonna pick one, but it's better to avoid both, yeah?
Grow up, kid. I'm only 2 years older than you and I feel like I'm talking to my (hypothetical) son.

One on the right for me
Meh, I wouldn't read into those 55 in a 35 zone - there are some country roads that done have posted speed signs on them - meaning the default is usually 25 or 30. Doesn't make any sense. That probably isn't the case but we don't know what the road looks like...

^ People, cool down. I speeded up while driving downhill and then slowed down. By the time the cop had caught up, I was only doing 70 or 75 at 11 PM on an empty freeway with 5 lanes...... I am not that stupid and neither is the cop, so he wrote 95 on the ticket. None of what I said is a lie.

Sounds like my son's instance. Honestly, I dont want to sound like a hypocrit as I (like my son) also would likely be running about 100mph+ in the middle of the night on a desolate interstate.
My hangup is that he doesn't have the driving experience to just arbitrarily speed without having developed that "internal cop detector" and he's still at the age where insurance rates skyrocket at the slightest infractions.

Eh, we all intend to speed sometimes, no one is perfect about it. I bet I am not the only person who would argue that freeway speed limit should be 75 mph. At least in the far left lane.

Safety Car
got a 78 in a 55 yesterday. was travelling in the right lane in a pack of cars going ~75 in a 65. once the speed limit adjusted from a 65 to 55, 4 cops immediately came out and ticketed the whole group of cars. so pissed. to top things off the cop including a deposition that completely took my words out of context so it appears as though i agreed to his radared speed. also, if i pled not guilty, and the court denied the plea, i would have to show up to court in person to pay the ticket. the court is 2 hours away from where i live and i dont even have my own car at my disposal. ive never been so screwed. just gotta pay up.
