BEWARE!! Price Acura (Dover, Delaware) ...wrecked customer NSX and screwed them over!
BEWARE OF PRICE ACURA IN DOVER, DELAWARE!! Check out this thread where their dealership technician wrecked the customers '04 NSX-T and now they want to make the customer pay for it, as the dealer denies being responsible at all!! What a bunch of crap!

After reading the thread...how can they say they aren't covering it...but in the next few posts down, the guy says they were going to 'make him whole again'? Sounds like an exaggeration on the guys part. And from what I know of that dealership family(they have a few dealerships in DE) from being in the banking biz, they have one of the best customer-satisfaction ratings around here. They also are one of the very few dealerships that do the no-haggle pricing deal.
I'm trying to think of when it would have rained for this to happen from his post...we haven't had rain in DE since last weekend.

That is nuts, so sad. I once caught an Acura Tech ripping ass in my friend's 6 speed SC'ed CL. I followed him and called my friend. My friend made it to where i was and saw his car being toyed with, thank God he brought a camera with him. This guy had a set of balls because we follwed him for 30+ minutes all around while he went nuts. My friend very calmly called his dad who called his lawyer. They went to the dealer and showed the owner the video. The dealer offered to buy back his car and take off the SC. He sold the SC and went to the Infiniti dealer and purchased a g35c.

I kept getting different stories from different people/managers at the dealer; that's why when I was told that my insurance company would have to pay damages I went up for a sit-down meeting with everyone. It helped, as it clarified my position and now everyone is on the same page. Hopefully, after they look at it today or tomorrow at their body shop, they'll opt to just repair it and not have me go through my insurance.
I agree that they're typically great to deal with - we've bought 4 cars from them over the past 3 years (RSX, S2000, TL, NSX) and worked closely with them on the S2000 and NSX doing performance upgrades (Comptech superchargers, etc). As I said on Prime; were it any of the other cars, I'd not be as concerned.
I'm not looking for special treatment or freebies - I simply want a collision-free NSX again and am willing to start over with payments if need be to have that.
We've had a great rapport with them to date, our salesman there is a great guy and we were actually planning on purchasing a new RL later this year. Ultimately, we'll see in the next week how this shakes out - I'm hoping it goes smoothly.

Even if the dealerships insurance does not cover it, the dealer owner should pay for this out of his own pocket (which is what I'm assuming will end up happening since none of the insurance companies are willing to cover it). The tech is probably going to lose his job over this...

You're right - the tech may lose his job over this, which is unfortunate. He's an excellent mechanic and an all-around great guy with two kids. People make stupid mistakes sometimes. He's just not used to the car (rwd/400hp/3000lbs); turning off traction control on a narrow wet road and doing a hard shift to second was just a dumb move. I'm just glad they didn't get hurt and that no other vehicles were involved; cars can be replaced - people can't.

That is just crazy. You seem to be a very understanding person unlike A LOT of people who would be ape shit if their 04 NSX got rocked like that. I know, I don't have that cash flow to repair something like this without a fight.

BTW, who was your salesman? I normally deal with Walt Smith(I believe he's the sales manager).

We deal with Jerry Johnson - I swear he was more upset than I was when he found out the car had been wrecked. Walt's a good guy, too - was pretty concerned about this whole thing.

Well, I hope they do the right thing.
You could always try to contact Warren Price if things start to go south. I'm sure he would do whatever it took to prevent any bad publicity, etc.

Even if they fix the repairs, you still have the issue of diminished value to address.
When a car is involved in an accident, not matter how well it is fixed, I would think it would be worth less then if it hadn't been in an accident. The dealers body shop may be top notch, but I'm sure they aren't up to the skill level that is required at the factory to put a NSX together.
Sounds like ultimately, they should set you up with an 05, transfer over your mods, and it shouldn't cost you anything out of pocket. If not, I'd be talking with an attorney.
Hope they do the right thing, and not just fix it...

Re: OMG - Dealer Wrecked My '04
Update time - just got word from the dealer. No frame damage; the estimate came in at $11,271.93. They're getting my payoff now and trying to track down a yellow one.

I just want a collision-free car again. Even they admitted yesterday that we maintain our cars almost in better condition than they arrive new (waxing the engine compartment and underhood area, cleaning suspension, etc.)... having one that required so much paintwork wasn't an option. We'll see how it shakes out - looks like they may come through.

Oh, man. That sucks ass. I would've had a fit.
When Acura of Troy messed up on my brakes and nearly sent my car into a ditch, I threw a fit. If they wrecked my car, I would deck someone in the lips. Especially an NSX! For some people, that is a house right there. Geez. With such a big investment (??), they should've been way more careful.
I knew this one guy on the LS1 forum with a decked out C5, and the techs took it out for a joy ride, and literally snapped the car in half. The dealership replaced it, but he lost all the mods on the car. Such a shame. That is one reason why I don't trust dealerships in general. This one guy at the body shop ALWAYS eyes my car every time I take it in, so I watch them like a hawk. I memorize the mileage and check over the car thoroughly. I trust the shop manager 100%; I just don't trust that one guy. He's got potential to do something like this.
I hope everything works out for him. That NSX got seriously messed up.

Ok - here's the latest. Got off the phone with my salesman; he's been given instructions to get a replacement car by any means required. Unfortunately, the color combo we want (yellow/black) seems to be MIA right now... going to discuss alternative choices with my wife tonight.
Looks like it may go smoothly, assuming they can find a car.

Dang man that blows. I would have thrown a royal fit. They probably would have had to call the cops before I would have left. I would have came over the parts counter when he said "I'm not paying to repair it"
BTW: yeah insist on a new 05 because when you wreck an exotic it does make the value of the car go down. since it isn't your fault it was wreck i feel they should make it right to before the accident. I would have them order(or find) a 05 of your likeing then have them transfer all your mods NO COST. if they want you to pay labor tell them you F--K UP MY car you can eat the labor bill buddy.
