Is it better to do a trade-in while warranty is still intact?

Hypothetically speaking, say I wanted to trade-in my 2002 TL and lets say it has 49,990mi on it with the warranty still intact. Would there be a substantial difference say if there was 50,000mi with no warranty?

Kelly Blue Book says:
Mileage: 49,999 = $17,125
Mileage: 50,000 = $16,650

Difference of $475 <---------That is an expensive mile

Anyone know what type how the dealerships handle this?

Interesting.

See the difference from 99,999 and 100,000

Warranty might not be a factor... just saying a car has 100k miles could hurt sales.

i doubt warranty would be a factor, seeing how it isn't of value to the dealer or whoever they sell it to next.

I wonder if every mile turning the next decade mark is expensive. Looking at a marketing point of view, it looks like you only 49k miles, but it's really 50k.
