I had a TSX and enjoyed it went to a 07 G35X because the rest of the Acura line bored me and I'm looking at swapping to something different next spring. I'm not dissatisfied with these cars, just more interested in something else.

I came to Acurazine because of the 2001 CL Type-S and never bought one LOL ... Tried to back in 2002 but it was just too expensive for me at the time.

I just bought a Mazdaspeed3 in March because nothing at Acura interests me anymore

as much as i would LOVE to get the g35 sport, m35/45, 335 sedan, gs350/450, audi s4, etc etc, if i were to buy a NEW car NOW, since i'm trying to save up for a house i'd probably get something under $30,000.

so for a new car, under $30k-ish, no honda/acura:
- subaru legacy gt
- audi a3
- nissan maxima
- mazdaspeed6
- vw gti
- mazda cx-7

but i'm with is300eater, i'd probably look into a used car. maybe a used s60-r.

I'll be needing something new this winter when the TSX lease expires. I posted for suggestions about a week ago and got some good ideas. I've got an M Coupe for a fun car, so I should probably just buy something practical, roomy, and reliable but.....

I really like the 335i and the 535i.
The M35/45 is a little fat and bland, but I kind of like it.
Lexus GS is really nice.
Saw a sweet MB E500 today.
I could probably swing a lightly used MB CLS.

I'm sure a closeout 2007 Accord is the smart thing to do, but I don't know if I can do it! I think the sheer lack of interest in something like that would just leave it sitting in the garage while I drive my BMW.

btw, I wouldn't mind having something that's (somewhat) gas efficient, yet fun to drive like... a Mini Cooper-S and just be able to get up and drive to Vegas or Santa Barbara without even having to think: "...ugh!" when it comes time to fill up before the trip

Wake up call to Honda/Acura? Your cars are reliable and the interiors are sweet, but the styling on your cars and performance of your cars are just average!

See I am going to have to disagree with this. While I cant say much for the performance I cant agree with you on styling. My car is an 00 and I can say yeah its nothing to look at. However, I think the new cars are VERY nice looking cars. I personally like the TL styling more then the G styling. I dont think you can say a car is bad becuase of styling. While it might be true for you its a subjective subject so you cant say that the company has gone wrong because of styling (unless it is something really bad like a Pontiac Atzak or something).

That's exactly my dilemna. Was talking to the wife about that very thing this weekend. We need to replace the '02 sometime before tranny #3 dumps on us, but we're not in a huge rush, and I was talking to her about that very concept - get something like an 'appliance' to save money but do the job, or do we just get something more 'involving'. She doesn't care, she'll drive anything pretty much, but I know me, and if I get something too boring I'll want to replace it too soon. My ZZR1200 (motorcycle) is my commuter, and my 'fun machine' for a real speed fix when needed, and no car I'm ever likely to afford can touch it for the fun-factor, but I still doubt my ability to live long-term with an 'appliance' like an Accord or Camry. The TL (05/06) is top of the list as it stands, but I'm reading all I can about other cars in the same general class to see if I'm missing something. Reliability is a major factor for me, and from what I'm seeing a 3-Series is pretty much out of the picture on that front. That's a shame, I've always loved the way the 3 drives/handles. So, I'll keep reading here and elsewhere to see what comes up......

Well, that's easy b/c there are no Acura's out there I want.

I'm looking at either a Boxster S or Carrera drop-top next if I go the convertible route. If not I like the CLS while my wife wants an A5. Which one we get and when depends on how things go.

After selling my CLS I got a a 99 GMC Jimmy for $800, it only has 118k miles on it and runs great.

Now that I have a beater/everyday car, I can now focus on what I'll get next within 2 years or buying a house, which ever comes 1st.

If the Jimmy is running strong...
1. 335i
2. G37
3. A4

If the Jimmy bites the dust...
1. Used Civic (so I can still buy from up top)
2. New Accord (will slightly delay the 1st list)

2005+ G35 in Obsidian Black/Graphite. Premium Package is a must. Sport Package is much preferred, but not mandatory.

2008 Accord

Mazda Miata for ~2500, as a fun beater

The new design looks pretty bad ass, and with a lot of features for only $31,000. I think its a good price.
