Bats Ride....(PICS)

Well, after I totaled my 2nd NSX I decided to buy another GTR. Guess I've been enjoying this one so much, I never got around to taking pics of it for the last 8 months that I've owned it :D. It's an 2010 model, and mods so far include: AEPerformance Y-Pipe, AAM Cold Air Intake, Eibach Springs, Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser, Downforce Carbon Fiber Lip Spoiler and ofcourse all my Vinyl work: which include matte black hood, roof, and rear overlay. I'm contemplating wrapping the whole car but not sure what color yet ;). Smoked Turns and Reverse Overlays( I've tried different variations including redout turns, amber turns, lighter smoke for both reverse and turns. I like this combo best.) I overlayed all by R badges in Blue ofcourse :D. I've got a set of 360Forged Concave 5's on order that I'll have done in Dark Gunmetal Centers, Matte Black Lip, Metallic Blue Pinstripe. Similar paint scheme that I had on my wheels built for my last Viper. Enjoy the pics!

So I've decided to wrap the trunklid and wing. Heres what it will look like when done. In the meantime, trunklid is wrapped. I'll be taking pics of it prior to reinstalling the wing, and will post them up.

I've decided to hold off from doing the full wrap for now. Instead, I've wrapped the trunklid, redid the lines on c-pillar wrap, and in the process of wrapping my wing. I also removed the silver accent pieces on the bumper. I'll relace them with dark gunmetal, to match up with the lower rear valence. Here are a few pics before I remount the wing. a couple of the pics were taken through my 2nd story window, thus the reflection. Enjoy.

what compelled you to do that? oh, the wing completely breaks up the look. maybe leave it off?

so you've had 2 NSXs and 2 GTRs?

1StGenCL Dec 17, 2010 06:50 AM

^and a viper :what:

Guess overlays are bringing in good money ha

Looks good but I'm not sure about the rear

I'm actually a fulltime teacher, and a freelance artist/designer. Been doing both for over 20 years now. The vinyl gig is just a hobby....a fulltime I might add ;).

Wrap the entire car.

Blue Batmobile Dec 17, 2010 08:25 AM

I probably will eventually, but I had this scheme in mind for sometime now. Thats whats great about vinyl, you can change it whenever :).

The car is still not among my favorites, but the wing off helps. I love the blue Rs, and think the color scheme on those wheels you've ordered will really set the car off. Leave the wing off.

FiftyFive Dec 17, 2010 10:05 AM

wrap the whole car that color!

odehboy Dec 17, 2010 10:06 AM

any negative effects of on the paint when you remove vinyl?

I actually think it protects it, if done right.

Pete2010 Dec 17, 2010 10:24 AM

Damn nice ride. I wasn't a fan of the car with the wing, but with the wing off and wrapped back there it looks much better. You must be one hell of a teacher to afford two NSX's and 2 GTR's... Good for you!

myron Dec 17, 2010 10:28 AM

wtf do you teach haha post pics of other cars.

Morrissey25 Dec 17, 2010 10:56 AM

Hiring any teachers in your schoold district? :tomato:

I've been teaching for 10 yrs. there is absolutely no way that I could afford any of your toys.

I like what you are doing to the GTR. It looks real nice

phee Dec 17, 2010 11:59 AM

i like it with no wing. have you thought about un-wrapping the back of the car and only putting vinyl over the silver squares u currently have unwrapped?

06cmv6 Dec 17, 2010 12:42 PM

awesome car and work....i think it looks sweet wrapped but i think the wing needs to stay on the car

Rockstar21 Dec 17, 2010 01:18 PM

the vinyl on the rear is questionable.. but the rest looks good.

stangg172004 Dec 17, 2010 01:30 PM

KaMLuNg Dec 17, 2010 02:05 PM

Moog-Type-S Dec 17, 2010 02:19 PM

If you completely wrap the car, will it hide all the ugly?

:tomato:

Whoa whoa whoa, do we need to ask dr cougar if i need my head checked?

Moog-Type-S Dec 17, 2010 05:54 PM

Question is: Can the GT-R get you chicks with a happy trail too?

speedemon90 Dec 17, 2010 08:04 PM

Looks all right, but taking the wing off of the GTR, won't that hinder its performance? I'm pretty sure that its functional. I remember reading somewhere the grooves up front focus the air towards the rear wing to increase downforce.

I dunno about you, but I've always been performance > looks

speedemon90 Dec 17, 2010 08:06 PM

Ohh and before you total your car you should give it to me

I know it was just an excuse to buy a new car, so might as well give it to a fellow azine :wish:

justnspace Dec 17, 2010 08:09 PM

I can just picture it now....

" Mr. Bat is the cool teacher who drives the cool car!"

Costco Dec 17, 2010 09:46 PM

That's cool that a teacher can own a GT-R. I'd be very curious if I saw that in my school's parking lot. The only impressive car I've seen in school staff's parking lot was an LS460 and an F430. Well, the F430 wasn't parked but I saw it driving in the parking lot with a staff parking sticker on it.

I'm not a fan of the vinyl scheme you have on there, though it may be because I'm not a GT-R fan to begin with. Maybe if you wrap the entire car it'll look better.

Steven Bell Dec 17, 2010 10:31 PM

Bat-it's good to see your new ride. Wrap that baby in carbon fiber--do the whole thing!

pfft. Don't worry. He's not owning 2 NSXs, 2 GT-Rs, and a Viper, on what a teacher makes. You can count on that.

Blue Batmobile Dec 18, 2010 01:06 PM

lol, Well I've been teaching for 25 years! So I'm in the upper pay scale with that many years. Plus California teachers make more overall than the nations average I believe. I also have a degree in Art, so I've been freelancing for that many years at least, with a steady clientel. So doing all that, plus pimping vinyl on the side, saving my money=GTR ;).

+1

No need to justify the means to obtain your cars. Your economics and financial workings are your own business. Personally, I know plenty of people who are quite affluent and are in professions not generally associated as such. There are many other variables involved when acquiring resources not dependent solely on profession.

In regards to the exterior, not my style, but looks well done. I'm more of a fan of subtle and monotone paint/graphic applications. Personally, I think the GT-R is a wonderful looking car that needs nothing.:2cents:
