I have bought a few off ebay for family members' cars before they got new ones with cams included. I think they were under $15 with the lines and worked great. They were small cams that dropped down from under the license plate area but depending on what your license plate lights look like, you may find something that has a cam built in with a smaller plate light (assuming you aren't too low, which I am guessing you are).

If you want the moving lines, I am afraid you are out of luck unless your aftermarket head unit supports it but I personally do not think the moving ones are much better.

ive seen those $15 ones on ebay/amazon but figured it wasnt worth it since they were so cheap. but lately ive heard a few people tell me they've had good results with them.

Ok thanks. Much appreciated. How's the day/night visibility on it?

The lens on most cameras can throw off some depth of the image (usually wide angle). I've had them in both my cars (both aftermarket) and I guess I've gotten used to it. And on my Infiniti, it shows the edge of the bumper in the image so that helps with being able to see how close you are to anything. On my CL, it was just a rear so it helped, but my accuracy probably was thrown off just from how the lens displayed the view with nothing from the car to help judge.

The one on the Lotus looks cool. Interested to know about it as well.

Things do tend to be a lot closer than they appear. I backed into a car once in my TSX because it doesn't have the lines to indicate how close you are (fail on Acura's part). Also because I was partially intoxicated, that didn't help much either. Lol
