Is there a good place to go on the web to get reviews on backroads - quality, views, safety, etc? I would imagine there'd be a site somewhere for this, especially on a 'car oriented' site like this one, but a few hours of Googling suggests otherwise.

Today, I was driving along Mines Road south of Livermore in CA, when it turned into a single- lane road (well, more like a 1.5 lane road, with no center stripe). After going around maybe 10 blind curves, and having seen (luckily on straight bits) a few big trucks and SUVs coming in the opposite direction, I decided it was just too risky to continue, so turned back.

I've driven hundreds of such roads in my lifetime, but had too many close calls. Statistically, there is probably only a small chance of encountering a big oncoming vehicle on a blind curve (with a steep drop on the side for added pleasure!), but ... I've made it this far and don't want to tempt fate more than I need too!
