B&B Exhaust for an E46 M3

I bought an '04 M3 convertible from someone who realized that it was a mistake to have bought it and wants me to lease it to him so he can enjoy it as a lease and remove his obligation from owning it and having to sell it, not to mention he needed the $$ back. It's a Black/Black 6 speed with 15k miles, 19" wheels and a couple of other goodies. The previous owner installed a B&B exhaust on the car. I had to take the car from him temporarily so I can get it inspected for NYS emissions, then get it inspected by the bank that I'm leasing it with (a pre-lease inspection to make sure the car is what it is, and not a train wreck). He warned me that the exhaust is loud. He told me he short shifts and doesn't rev over 2k because it's sounds so loud and "wakes up the neighbors". I fired it up, it was pretty deep and loud, but once you rev over 2500 rpm, it's such a loud raspy "brappp", it really sounds like shit. I was embarrassed this morning driving it to work, people looking at me trying to match the sound with the car...I drove down some side streets shifting at normal RPM's and set off a couple of alarms! WTF is up with this POS exhaust? The customer is looking for an OEM exhaust to put it on and sell this shitty B&B bullshit.

that reminds me of the Remus exhaust I heard on an S2k recently. Sounded godawful. I know nothing about the exhaust you speak of but feel yer pain!

I would have him check out a Tubi exhaust for that E46. May be able to get it cheaper than OEM.

It's the nature of the M3. My cousin has invested over 5 grand on different exhaust setups and hasnt found one that he's happy with. He is content with a magnaflow system, but it still sounds "tinny". The M3's exhaust sound is an ongoing saga at E46fanatics.com.
