Automobile glass shatters so beautifully...
So I go out to head to the grocery store, and some asshole broke into my car last night. Broke the passenger side front window and took a $30 Sanyo MP3 player. That's it. Left almost $1500 in stereo equipment and CD's. 
When I came back to clean the glass up, I found some papers a neighbor put in my car - FOUR other cars got broken into last night as well. All in a 1 block area. While speaking to the local LEO's about it, they said there is a local Asian gang who likes to hit our area. Then talking to my roomie, she saw 3 "ghetto" Asian kids walking down the block when she left the house at 4:30 this morning. Not much of a "kid" presence in my area...lots of retired professors from the local state university, so they stick out fairly well.
They really should've taken my 4D mag-lite......if I find who did it, I'm gonna beat the fucking pulp out of them with it (I know it's a long shot, but let me have my dreams
). Spending $250 on a window 5 days after I lost my job is not cool....

Any way to get better lighting around where you park?
How about a video camera out the front window aimed toward the car? 8hr tape FTW, if you catch them in the act.

Yeah, this sucks. I was hoping to trade this car in around June, too, but with the loss of job and now more money put into it, that's gotta wait.

That sucks. I was in an entrepreneurial business class back when I was at the Uni and came up with a security system with embedded motion activated micro camera with the ability to text pictures or stream live video feed to your media capable cell phone for situations such as this. Too bad it's not in production.

File a police report, even if you are not going through insurance. It helps the PD see where crimes are occurring and allocate resources appropriately.

What pisses me off most is that they are complete pussies. If you wanna rob me, come up to my doorstep. If you can get past me, you can have anything I own, because you damn sure earned it.
I have a feeling those who would come up would turn around once they saw me, though.

sorry to hear about that. thieves have been hitting cars everywhere in the US much more than before. mostly cause the punishment is a slap on wrist, if they ever get caught. we're here spending thousands trying to protect our investments and these assholes buy a 10 dollar crowbar.

sorry to hear. ive had my previous cars broken into before. first time they checked the ashtray for money but there was none and another time they almost took the stereo until my bro woke up and scared them off
