I would like to officially point out that Poke coined the phrase.
Mods...can you rename this thread:
Autography...My 30 year history of 37 cars.
Thanks in advance?

Pretty cool.
Ive managed to fight the new car itch for the past year or so. Its gotten bad though. My first few cars stayed with me for less then a year on average. So Im used to switching from car to car.
Very interesting list though. Got any more planned?

2010 TL AWD 6MT: New King
Nice thread, like reading through a live autobiography about your cars intermingled with business and family life. Very creative. Have you considered publishing it as a short story?
So...what's #38?

Welcome to Olliewood
haha i was just thinking that, the stories behind each car is unique..if it was a novel, i'd read it. Each chapter being a new car lol

Thanks for the change.
I'd never be able to get in and out of vehicles like I have if I did lease. The only leases ever were the Shiro, the Bronco II and the two Minivan's. The Shiro was taken from me before its time. I actually kept the Bronco full term and traded it in at the end making money on the trade. Both Minivans were driven by my wife and she's more than happy keeping a vehicle. She's driving the TL now because I have to drive the Yukon .
with all of the problems I am having with the Denali...
I actually went to buy an Expedition the weekend before I bought the Yukon. The dealer manager took it home for the weekend so I wasn't able to see it. I went back in Monday am to buy it but the manager decided to sleep in and it still wasn't there. I told them to let him know he blew a sale twice and went & bought the Yukon. Otherwise it would have been a Ford.
I'll have to look through this list now and make a list of all th brands I haven't bought

Great thread, man.
Now your numbers are gonna be off as you stumble upon other cars you don't even remember. I was on this same path at a young age, but having kept 2 of my cars almost 4 years, I'm now at a disadvantage.
I think it's funny you felt safer in your broncoII...I THINK they were at one point on the list of the most likely to roll over in a collision since they were top heavy and had a high narrow base.

My favorite weekend car for sure, but no time these days to spend under the hood.
So far it has worked, but even I will admit I have car issues. I found the right wife 11 years ago, maybe one day I'll find the right car.

Wow, great thread. That "local Chevy dealer" can pay its electricity bill from your sales alone I do not want to know how much "use" and "sales" tax you've paid to the state of New Jersey (unless the tax laws are different than CA)
I too have had an eclectic mix of cars/brands over the years, including your #18 Ford Probe GT (one of my favorite cars) and have had pretty good luck with reliability (knock on wood). It seems you've especially had problems with your American cars...which begs the question:
Are you sure your local Chevy dealer is selling you quality used cars? Some of the used cars from this dealership seem to be questionable...

As far as the Chevy dealer...most of the problems were with other dealers, except The new Mailbu but that was new and could have been from anyone.

Good thing you're in NJ
(I think this is why leasing is so popular in CA)

And this ladies and gents, is where getting a "deal" is not always a good thing.
The new used Denali with 19,000 miles seems to have a congenital problem. The monster 6.2l aluminum block is experiencing a bit of knocking that Chevy says is normal. When I first took it for a test ride, it had been sitting for several months and was louder than normal. Once it warmed up, the noise was gone and I didn't pay much attention to it. Long story short, there are bulletins about this issue and a set of tests the dealer has to go through before anything major is done. They have had it for a week now, and by the end of tomorrow will either commit to a new engine or take the truck back. I'm figuring they'll go with the new engine.
So while I will have to go through some aggravation, I paid about $5,000 less than I should have for the truck initially. Hopefully I'll have a brand new engine when we're done, because I really love the truck. So in spite of the BS I'll end up OK, but this could have gone terribly wrong.
And we all know what that would mean
