How well does the stock Bose system do of keeping up with the extra bass? I mean, does the bass from the subs drown out the mids and highs coming from the stock speakers? I don't want to hear only bass and maybe some rattling in my car...ghetto! Also, let me know what setups you all have decided to go with so that I have a better idea of my options. I listen to all types of rock music mostly and some hip-hop and breaks...so I really want to add some bottom end.

I also don't want to spend a fortune on the system, but don't have a budget established just yet. I was thinking of going with a JBL1200.1 and two 12" Infinity Perfects, but after seeing how someone blew their 2 Perfects with this setup I'm rethinking it. The amp seems great for the money, but I'm unsure about what subs to pair it with. Would this amp powering some subs require an upgrade to the rest of the speakers? I'd really like to spend as little as possible, but know that sometimes you have to pay more to get quality stuff.

And what do you guys think about inline subsonic filters for the JBL, which doesn't come with one built in. I heard they're a cheap fix, but don't know how recommendable they are. I'm not looking for competition quality, just something that sounds decent.

I checked out the BassLink to keep things cheap since I'm considering getting rid of the car, but it just doesn't give enough bass for my tastes. I want to keep the stock headunit too since I don't really like the way aftermarket units look in our dash.

Any info would be helpful right now, including where to buy cheap. I've found what seem to be good prices at www.ikesound.com, but don't have any experience with them.
