Audi S6

Just reading the "Nice car" topic and saw the S6 and it reminded me that i saw one the other day and i remember thinking i didnt know there was such a thing. I saw it coming up behind me really quickly and noticed it had bulging fenders and it just looked different then the reg. A6 so i assumed it was an A8 but when it blew by I saw it had an S6 emblem on the back and a small emblem in the front grill. Do they have S6s in the US or was this one imported? Im pretty sure it wasnt just rebadged because it had huge fender flares

If it wasn't a wagon, it was either imported or bogus.

The A6 4.2 is a pretty aggressive looking sedan in it's own right, so I'd bet that was a bogus 4.2.

The S6 Avant wagon certainly exists.

Nope it was def. a sedan, i very nice sedan. I doubt these people would have gone to the work to flare the fenders that much and than rebadge their car. They werent like some teenagers or something but i could be wrong so i was just wondering

I saw one this morning while driving to work. It was black with bulging fenders and it was not a wagon. On the back, on the left side the emblems read S in red and 6. On the right side, it had 4.2 litre. Hope this helps confirm any sightings.

I posted that pic in the other topic. The S6 is not avail in the U.S. but can be imported if you have plenty $$$$$.

Here it is again. (Not a Wagon)

That's what I saw driving to work this morning. The gentlemen driving in it was probably in his late 40's to early 50's. I also think he turned into the casino to go play a few hands.

He's a lucky mofo. That's at least $60k plus import fees.

charliemike,

It's probably just a drop in the bucket for him. By the way, that's some type of signature you have.

they wouldn't have had to flare the fenders - the a6 4.2 already comes with the s6 fender flares...

Oh sorry but it def. had the S badge and the people were way to old to worry about swapping badges. They didnt look like they had any money problems either

so what you're saying is, it's more likely that this guy went to the time and trouble of importing and emissions-certifying a marginally different vehicle (vs. what is already available here in the u.s.) rather than having bought a "regular" a6 4.2 and affixing an s6 badge to the deck lid, just because it looks like he has money?

ever here the saying that sometimes the simplest answer is the correct one?

I'm not saying you aren't correct, but I am saying I wouldn't bet the farm against him having the car rebadged...

You're never too old to cheaply add status.

tankmonkey,

I know alot of people who have imported cars from Japan and germany who went to the trouble of smogging their car to USA emissions standards. One friend of mine has a Nissan Fair Lady Z with the steering wheel on the left hand side that was imported from Japan. Another friend of mine imported one those Big Mechanical Waste machines. Oh yeah, they are called BMW. It's just a matter of money and this guy has alot of it. I have seen this guy lose a couple of million dollars in one weekend at Las Vegas. Now that is sickening!!!
