Audi LED's

Can any one tell me what watt or what type of LED lights audi uses in their new headlights? (as the drl decoration)

I would say smt .5-1w led plus they make a lens from the plastic to give it less scattered

Reflector based DRLs such as the ones found S6 use snapLED type white LEDs (thicker 5 mm heads)

Spot based DRLs such as the ones in A4 etc use superFlux 3 mm type LEDs.

Both are in "neutral white" rather than "cool white".

You can get replica LEDs, that are made in China/Taiwan/Korea from ebay vendors, but they wont be as durable or consistent as the OEM Audi ones.

Thanks for the response guys. I was just thinking of playing around with a headlight i have and am trying to find leds that are as bright as the Audi's

I'd say score a set of broken headlights from ebay, audi has done it right by using bright LEDs that will last you a lifetime.

Here is what the OEM A4 LEDs look like, notice the heat sink.

Thanks. I will have to look into them (im actually trying to find a used set of 09 A4 headlights and am going to try to see what it would take to retrofit them into my TL)
