Aston Martin DBRS9
Modified DB9 aimed at the amateur racing enthusiast.

Road & Track June 2005

Britain's Aston Martin will offer a high-performance version of its newest model, the DB9 coupe.

The DBRS9 blends full-bore race-car features including composite materials for all of the body panels and interior, along with polycarbonate side and rear windows, lightening the car by a whopping half ton. A roll cage is also included.

Engine retuning sees the 6.0-liter V-12's power output increase by 20 percent to 550 horsepower.

Ride height has been lowered and the suspension has been improved via stiffer springs and adjustable Koni shocks.

The 6-speed manual gearbox now sports closer gear ratios while a sequential shift racing gearbox will be offered as an option.

Famed motorsports guru David Richards, whose is responsible for managing and developing the Aston Martin Racing program, had this to say about the new Aston Martin club racer: "There are many people who want to race Aston Martins competitively in everything from the occasional track day to weekend club or national series racing. The DBRS9 opens GT racing up to more enthusiasts and with its levels of performance will offer aspiring racing drivers the experience of a GT racing car without the complexity associated with running a full GT car."

Built to order, the Aston Martin DBRS9 will be priced from €175,000.
