Justin go ahead and buy one and see if you get your butt landed in jail in no time!

Seriously speaking, this is illegal and only for emergency vehicles only.

being illegal hasn't people from doing stuff if you really want to do it go ahead but hide the transmitter and the buttons to activate it really well because if a asshole cop stops you its not going to be fun.....

The cops will know it's in your vehicle eventually. A lot of intersections either have cameras in them or are monitored by the city traffic section. When they see that a red light turned green 30 seconds before it was supposed to, they will take notice very quickly.

If this continues to happen, then the cops will sit at intersections and start looking for a common car for all the incidents. If they see it, they will pull you and and know that there is a MIRT in there somewhere. You won't be able to hide it.

well at least in florida and you should know this caremas are not allowed on intersections to catch people running reds or anything of that sort.....and you have to be smart about it either way....you put a kill switch to the button that control it and if a cop wants to see what the button does eh no power.........if you to do train horn this works very well because the horns can seen but will not work because no power.....and its not illegal to have em its illegal to use em.....thats why everything is sold with a offroad use only warning label....

thanks

thanks for the replys.

I know the legalities etc. I also know someone with one, and has not had any problems. I just wanted someone elses expierence with one-there seems to be no one that has one-understandably.

As far as cameras go-the area i live in only has cameras in very few intersections, but for the intersections that do have them I plan on buying license plate covers (like many people in my area) that are clear to the naked eye, but to a camera your license plate is very distorted. The one easy way to answer the question about the cops sitting and waiting is to do it randomly, in other words dont always use it at the same intersection at the same time etc. Another thing is it emits no visible light so a cop would not be able to see it working. Using the device with other cars going in the same direction as you helps too, because a cop/camera wouldnt know what car it was coming from.

again thanks for the reponses,

Justin

I forget where I read about this guy getting caught using this. The city started seeing traffic backup on opposite streets over the course of a month and finally narrowed it down to 1 pickup truck. He didn't get arrested. I think it was a misdemeanor.

speed racer, I dont dought it...the guy in the p/u truck didnt use it in a smart way-in my opinion. you have to use it different places at different times. I mean you can use it at the same intersection just not always at the same time of day. If you do, they will pick up patterns and you will eventually get caught.
