Let's hope he doesn't kill anyone while he's "practicing". Idiot.

If he really only speeds when there's noone around, then I guess it's acceptable.

However, it clearly appears that it's not the case as he had to slam the brakes to avoid rear-ending a bunch of people in a construction zone...

What a scumbag. There is a HUGE difference going 230+ on salt flats and going 100+ on public roads, there is NO way his truck will come close to even matching the world speed record, he is just some jack ass who uses it as an excuse to drive "fast." I have no sympathy when people like that crash, I feel terrible if innocent people are involved though. It sickens me to know an idiot like this lives and drives in my area.

He should not be allowed to still be driving with that kind of a record.

He's just like the character in The World's Fastest Indian, except that he's a complete tool.

What I don't understand is how this guy only pays $1200 for insurance per year with all those speeding tickets.

Beyond the fact that the guy's an idiot, I guess I don't understand why the newspaper would actually run this story. There almost saying, "Well, it's fine to do 160 on the highway as long as you're practicing to beat a land record."

Relative of yours? I'm guessing that people who think like this also have that psychic ability to "see" the soccer mom with the van full of kids just around the next bend, huh?
