Anyone with buying a G coupe experience?

Trying to help my buddy out here. He's looking at a 06 g35 6spd coupe. Loaded 20K miles white on tan. They are asking 26,100 certified and won't budge on the price. That was last night, they called him this morning saying they will take the certification off the car and drop the price 2k. I'm thinking we can added the 400 internet coupon they mentioned last night to that 2k off too and get the price down to 23,728. Is this a good price for a g coupe from an infiniti dealer? Is it worth the extra 2k for a certified car? The factory warranty is still on it till august 2010.

Any help or insight would be great.

Thx
Michael

Not familiar with Infiniti certification. What are the details; extra year, two years of warranty? There's no maintenance, so even at two years, that's $1000 a year for warranty extension.

http://www.infinitiusa.com/pre-owned/warranty.html

it would basically add 2 years to the factory warranty.

The dealer is basically selling the car without CPO warranty but they've done the certification process. The car should be trouble free for its first 4-5 years with regular maintenance. Small things might break like O2 sensors afterwards but they're not that expensive. IMO, It's not worth extra $2k for 2 years of warranty.

In Southern Cali, that seems like a good price. You need to check your local Autotrader, Craigslist etc and compare the prices.

Why do you want to purchase this car from an infiniti dealership? Use cars.com, or autotrader.com, and search. If you find one in some other dealership, its usually a steal. A while back, when I was looking I found a clean '07 G35 sedan fully loaded for 23K even sitting in a honda dealers used car lot! I even priced it down from that because it wasn't selling! Do you home work, carfax the vehicle, and have your mechanic go through it. Good luck
