True. But for that $9,000-10,000 difference, you can do this for $8,000 and blow the doors off the new one.

That's temporary, give it some time and the discounts will be significant on the 05.

It'll be interesting to see, i doubt the kick backs will be as big as the 04's, they are just trying desperately to get rid of them since the 05's are out. It's funny how some dealers think GTO's are gold. I went out to VA and went to test drive one and not a single dealer would let me. However out here, they could careless as there are 10 or so on every lot.

And, for 22-23K I'd jump in an 04 w/o hesitation. That other 10K will easily make up for what differences their are (h/c 450-500 hp 2K, new brakes (the 05 has upgrades) 2K, etc, etc. Hood scoops (which personally i'd delete if I got an of).

A local dealer has an 04 with red leather and manual sitting in their lot. They are asking 23,999. I am so tempted.

whenever a thread talking about a GTO appears i always think of the mitsubishi GTO back in japan and click into it.. GTO and FTO's are sick, just underrated here.

the pontiac ones are nice too, but for something that has 400+hp.. i would expect it to look fast and designed alittle bit more attractive.

You're definitely a product of the Gran Turismo generation. I didnt know the 3000GT was even called that until I bought the original PS.

Well, you can already get 05s discounted (amount varies per area). Even though there are less 05s being produced, you'll still be able to get an excellent deal if one is patient enough. The discounts may not be quite as good as the 04, but the factory upgrades to the 05 are worth the difference.........the 05 is just a better car.

Exactly
only sports cars line i'd want with an auto. due to them not being made with sticks is those with those 3 little letters. // A M G.
I'd even take a C55 over a CTS-V.

Once they put the 408hp in the C55 it will rock the CTS-V all night long.

Of course with the money saved by going with the V, one could modify that beast like a Vette.

With I bought my '97 Camaro Z28, the wife didn't want to fool with a stick, and with Borla exhaust, and K&N intake for 333hp, I could just put my foot in to whenever I chose, I didn't have to worry about which gearI was in. With 400hp, it should be THAT much easier.

Agreed. With that much torque and the fact that GM automatics are quite good in that application, it makes sense.

I wouldn't say THAT. I'd say they're worth about $25K. The interior's awesome, and the drivetrain is straight out of the Vette. Are you saying the Vette's drivetrain, with a more than decent interior, is not worht $25K? C'mon, don't be silly.

Not worth $25k to ME.

Yes, I am. Why pay $25k just for a fucking drivetrain?

The car weighs 3,700 lbs & has no options & looks like it should be called Cavalier SS.
