i've had a 00 Odyseey for a little over a year now(I bought it from my parents who bought it new) it's been a hell of a good van. 150 k on it nothing done to it. I now only drive it on the weekends. usually if I'm going to Meijer's(which is like Wal-Mart) or Home Depot. I take it.
my parents bought an 05 EX-L they love it. I have a 2005 Goldwing. I was taking my bike to the dealership to put some chrome on it. usually I take the 02 Tundra 4x4. Dad said I could use the 05 Odyssey to see how it tows. It ALMOST tows as well as my Tundra.
bottom line about the Odyseey -on a scale of 1-10 1 being crap and 10 being perfect. I'd give it a 9.

Id go with the oddyssey, what you pay extra up front you get back in resale. Check other dealers also. friend of ours just got a touring for 34 with navi. The woman and i have been looking and honda will be the only van i would purchase

I would not read much into resale on the Ody. Even though it is a Honda (with typical above average resale), minivan resale value drops like a rock....unlike SUVs.

just wait few months and you'll save at least 3+ grand on kia around august and september. hyundai/kia never sells for actual msrp. azera was sold for 30k when it came out, but now it can be had for 26-27k easily.
and who cares about resale! just keep the damm thing for next 10 years, you get a 10year/100miles warranty, you know?
anyway, i would buy entourage instead of sedona. that's just me. and i would never never never pay 37k for a van.

Owned a Chrysler T&C for 10 years. I liked its luxury and would have driven it until the wheels fell off but they refused to do it all at the same time. One at a time became too expensive for me.
Bought a 2002 Ody new. Now has 60K on it. Last year added a TL and a Toyota Sienna. The Sienna was a good deal at model year end.
All were/are good vehicles. I still miss the Chry but I would no longer plan on keeping any Chry product more than 3 years. The Sienna drives like a car and seems to be well built with decent but not great mpg. Will probably sell it within a year or two. I intend to keep the 2002 Ody a long time. I like its driving dynamics and fuel economy. I may have to buy a hand-held Navi for it. I really like the one in the TL.
If in the market, I would certainly consider the Kia or the Hyundai. They both look like good bargains. If one is concerned with initial casjh outlay, why not buy the Kia Lx? O for that matter, an ody LX. The Kia lists around $22.5K and you could certainly get a deal. The Honda will be coming uo on year end shortly. The Ody, Siennaor Kia offer the same chassis regardless of price. You get the same envelope and the same V6. The price diff is in the bells and whistles.

So, I looked outside my window this morning, and I *think* my neighbor traded his 03 Sedona, as I see a 06 Santa Fe on his driveway, lol.
Fwiw, if he really did trade the Sedona (probably did), he probably got dinged by the awful resale values. I checked on the resale values of 03 Sedonas, and the trade-in value is about $7500...about 1/3 of new after only 4 years and 50-60K.

I wouldn't buy a Kia for more than 28K. And yes, I own a Kia! I have a '95 Sportage 4X4 and it is fun as shit to drive and until 125K miles I didn't really have any problems with it.
If you can get your differential at $8k or more, go for it. Otherwise stick with the Honda and bask in the resale value!

mmmmmm....
sterotype....Korean cars aren't junk as used to be. The hyundai and Kia has came long way. The Toyota is scared of Hyundai more than Honda because Hyundai has improved so much in past 5 years. I couldn't believe myself either. Hyundai over Honda?? But we better start believing it because Hyundai s the one of the top 5 best selling cars in U.S. right now. back to the topic..I haven't done any research on sedona but I believe that the Kia sedona has the best rated in crashing test (5stars). Its really up to you but if I were you! I wouldn't mind going with the sedona....10 years with 100k warrarity?? nothing can go wrong with that.
