A man I used to ski race against when we were teens (he's a day older than me) is rebuilding his 928. He also has a 944 which I may be driving as well. If not, I'll run the T.
Here's the original course, approximately 6 miles through the countryside. Thank you Cameron Argestsinger for bringing this form of racing home with you from Europe in 1946.
would be the pinnacle of Porsche ownership (well except for a Carrera GT).
Here is my low mileage 1995 993 in Speed Yellow (in a 6-speed manual of course) that I picked up in 2009 that I still own. Incredible to think it is now 30 years old.
As for the 944 discussed in this thread, my friend and PCA instructor stated they are great track cars.
Having driven the 992 Carrera S with PDK on the track since 2021, they are all very nice, but everything after the 991.1 just does not do it for me which is why I snapped up a 2015 Carrera 4 GTS (in a 7-speed manual of course) in 2018 with a piddly 98 miles on it. I lucked in because I was thinking about one in 2015 and I didn't go through with it. Then the 991.2 came out and I did not want a twin-turbo. So I guess my 991.1 will be my last Porsche.
This year on the Porsche course, I got to drive the Carrera S, the GTS-Hybrid (532 HP), the real Turbo (572 HP) and the GT3 RS (518 HP) and the only one that I really liked was the linear engine of a normally aspirated GT3 RS much like my GTS. I could go for a GT3 Touring but I hate the glass panel dashes in the 992s.
993, 964 & 997 were my favorites for a long time.
I'd be more of a 944 or Boxster buyer with my budget Have driven a few 944 & like them. Had a close call with a 944 Turbo, boost lag & a long descending 270* exit curve off the highway
I'm a big 928 fan, my friend in Austin, TX has two (at the same time '83 S and '88 S4 with single plate clutch) both 5MT. Today he still owns the '88. Amazing car, very solid body when you closed the door it was such a solid "thunk". Always wanted to drive a 5MT GTS (which bring more money these days on BaT).

Hey, I am a "tech", not a doctor, engineer, lawyer or business owner and I own two really nice mint 911s. It takes two things, passion and determination. When you love 2 & 4 wheeled vehicles, love maitaining them and wear Walmart t-shirts, anything is possible.

you forgot timing. The price of some toys went up a lot. Depends too where you are in life, sometimes the cost for a shorter commute is significant. If you’re retired or can wfh and don’t want to live in town, that can unlock funds for other fun things. Personally, I pay for all my stuff with my OnlyFans content.
That's one place I miss (I'm from Rochester). That and Letchworth State Park.

Letchworth is a very special place to my family. Besides having many fun times there, it was at one time, the seat of the Seneca Council and home to Mary Jemison, "The White Woman of the Genesee." She was abducted as a young girl in Pennsylvania by the Hurons and brought to WNY whereupon the Senecas (my tribe) adopted her. She rose to great power and stature over her lifetime and is buried there on the hill up behind "The Glen Iris Inn" which was William Letchworth's home, the man who donated the land to NYS.
