Does anyone know any good forums on the G35 Coupe? I drove one the other day and now I am seriously considering buying one. I just want to know if there is anything I should be looking out for. It is a first year car and I am not sure if I should be impulsive and just get it or wait till the 04's come out.

I just sold my M3 and am looking to get something soon. I've been tossing around the idea of another CL (6 speed) and also considered a G35 Coupe. I dunno.... but I do want to get back to the Japanese reliability.

Right now, I'm driving my Ford Escape 4x4, which makes an excellent winter vehicle.

 

Cool. I bought an ol' 91 Exploder to tool around in with no worries. Still have the CL-S for another 5 months. I too am looking at the G35 Coupe. I like that car a lot. Sorry to bastardize this guy's thread but what the hell, we are talking about G35's eh?

Well, since we are on the topic, what do you think I should do.

a) place my deposit and get the car in a few months or
b) just wait until the 04's come out and the hype dies down

I am just wondering what to do. After driving the car, I am almost positive it is the next car I am going to buy. However, it is a 1st year car, which worries me, and dealers don't seem to want to negotiate prices just yet (though I have been told by my brother who works for a Nissan dealership that the demand for the 350z is dying down so the G35 can't be too far behind).

You'll prolly get a better price and the first year bugs should be worked out....

 

Once you go RWD/AWD, you'll never want to go back to FWD.

 

Unless you live where it snows. Standard tire size on the 6MT G35 is 245/45/17...... not too good in the snow.

 

i love my car in the snow. I am so impressed this winter.

 

And you claim to own a FWD CL-S.

none of the sites that you guys mentioned are all that great as far as a performance aspect. there simply is nothing out there yet. nothing but juice and hype. i spend most of my time on my350z.com b/c most of the things that come out for the Z will translate for the coupe. hope that helps.........

I am a converted RWD owner. Before I owned a RWD car, I thought they were dangerous and less economical etc etc when I was in love with my ES. I was perfectly happy with the handling and acceleration etc. I drove a SC 400 and fell in love with the handling and got that car. After about 6 months, I KNEW, I would never ever go back to FWD. Whenever I drive a ES or RX FWD loaner, it just feels cheap and blah compared to RWD.

 

FWD car is cheap for a reason.

 

 

I went from a few civics to a 3000GT VR4 (AWD) to a prelude (FWD)... to an NSX (RWD)... to a CL-S (FWD) - no sense huh?

 

You know, I've never met more of an idiot with such nice cars.
