Any Experience with Hankook Tires

I am in the market for a new set of tires for my family car (Pacifica). The current rims/tires are 235/55/19 which up until now have been made by two manufacturers Michelin MXM4 (OEM) and Continental. The Michelins are great tires and have lasted on my car for 64,000 smooth and quiet miles. The sidewalls are worn down past the wear bars but the center and outside are decent so time to replace. Original Michelin's are pricey at $230 a piece plus installation.

Hankook just came out with a tire that I can get for $161 a piece plus install which is a phenomenal savings. However, I have not heard much of the brand. Does anyone have any experience good or bad with this company?

I had a set on a 91' Mustang 5.0 several years ago. I was actually quite impressed with them. I wouldn't hesitate to use them in other applications.

They're are ok. Just dont pull G's with them, they will show their limits far sooner then a comparable name brand tire.

Try Costco.com for an installed price on the Michelins- I don't remember if the $60 coupon for Michelins is still in effect there.

I haven't looked at the Hankooks- check the Tirerack.com site to see its opinion and that of other users.

See if you can get pirelli tire. we run Pirelli on farm tires. plus that also what I got on my Accord(p6s) LOVE THEM.
I had Michelins on the Accord before that i won't go back to Michelins. the P6s and Michelins were about the same price.

I just checked around some more and found some Yokohama Parada Spec-X.

They are about $188 a piece. I think I may go in that direction.

I had 'kook RS-2's on my old WRX. They were quite the bomb. Sticky as hell. Relatively soft sidewall. Lasted longer than you expect a tire that is sticky enough to pick up pea gravel to last.

I dont know about that. I bought the Ventus S1 evo a month or 2 back and they have been a phenomenal tire so far. They are quiet, very predictable and have great grip in the dry, not as good in the wet as the Goodyear F1 GSD3 but good. Ive taken turns at or above speeds i did with the pilot sports i had. Ive got about 8K+ on them and they are holding up great so far. Ill probably see 35K+ from them
