I found this picture while looking for something else and I have to say, this is ASTONISHING. It's the V10 engine out of the current BMW M5 completely broken down to its key components. People tend to forget just how complex modern cars are...here's a bit of a reminder.

Cool. I've taken engines apart before but internals in general make me nervous. Tolerances are so close and parts have to be installed a certain way, and as you can see there are so many of them....

Imagine what a W16 would look like fully disassembled like this.

Pretty cool pic, notice how there are no lower bearing main caps. Instead there is a lower crankcase/bearing bridge which is stiffer and stronger. Here's a BAR F1 car in pieces
