ALMS Race @ Lime Rock Park 7/7/07
WARNING: LARGE POST
A few friends and I went to Lime Rock Park in CT for the ALMS race. It was my first time at a car race and my first time to Lime Rock Park. I'll let the pictures and video speak mostly for themselves, but I was in awe all day. NSX Club of America decided to have a meet at the race, so there were 50 NSXs there! They also got to drive on the race track during one of the breaks between races. There were also AT LEAST 250 Porsches there, of all makes, models and years, and at least 50 Corvettes!!! And these were all owned by spectators. All of the race cars sounded absolutely amazing, except the Audi R10 which was nearly quiet save the turbos. The Panoz Esperante sounded the most guttoral and beastly of all, with the Vettes close behind. The Vettes owned GT1 while the DHL Penske Porsche RS Spyders owned LMP1. Enough talking, here are the pics and vids!
And of course the girls…

and one vid of the sound of the cars driving by (I pointed the mic towards the cars)

A funny thing that happened, as I was trying to find parking, I saw a sign that said Acura-->, so I thought that maybe we were supposed to park by car manufacturer (in hindsight that is a stupid idea, but it was my first time to the track so I wasn't sure). So I signaled to turn into that parking lot and the parking attendant waived me in. So I parked off to the side of all the NSXs, and there was also a new RL and an RDX. Well I heard the NSX owners saying something about registering, but I didn't know for what. Then later I saw on the schedule that they were having an Acura corral on the track, so all the NSXs would be driving on there. When they finally drove on the track, they were led by the RL and the RDX! I thought to myself that if I had just "registered" , I may have been able to drive on the track with the other Acura's! Later in the day I went back to my car to get something, and I saw a note on my windshield that kindly said, "Please move your car from here. -IMSA" LOL
