I plan to do it someday though.

New car within the next 5 years, max...

I started looking for a new car at the end of '02-beginning of '03, and even had a quote on a 2003 TL-S and a 2004 G35. After test driving and looking at various cars whose only commonality was 250+ HP, I finally got an '05 TL in April '05.
I just looked at a Mustang GT and a GT500 (in orange! ) yesterday and had looked at a 335i sedan (w/o driving) several months back, so I should be getting a replacement car soon.... in about a year...
Or maybe I'll just drive my Integra, which I haven't gotten around to selling for the past 3-4 years.

Honestly, I think you would find the 335xi more entertaining than a full size sedan. The only reason to get a 535 imo, is if you have kids or like shuttling your friends around. And its not like people can't fit in the back of the coupe.
The S5 is nicer looking inside and out than the 335, imho. Not to mention a more exclusive car.
But end of the day it is more expensive to the degree in which you equip the 335. Also the gas mileage is awful for a car that is fast, but not really much faster than the 335 stock (chipped forget about it).
Are you leasing again? If so, one quote from the Audi dealer and you'll be running back to BMW at full speed ahead.
There is actually a guy on one of the BMW boards, who had an 06 M5....and replaced it with a 335xi and loves it.
For me....as a gift - S5
If I'm paying for it - 335xi

I actually did get a loose lease quote of high 7's, low 8's, for 0 down (just inceptions), 36 mo, 15k mi for the s5. I haven't bothered quoting the BMW since I'm already driving those guys nuts.
Audi called me yesterday saying they have a guy who changed his mind on a red one -- I replied with "yuck, red?". Is there really a 3 month wait for this thing?
I'm on the list out at my PA BMW dealership for the new m3 -- but that's going to come in at more than I would like to acquire a car for in this realistic age of cost vs. practicality vs. is it really necessary. Optioned out, that thing is going to be 70k+...
Either way, thanks for the always-honest opinion. Pirate over... lol

All I've heard right now is that the deals are terrible on the S5 and to wait until the rate drops. Would be nice to have the exact rates/residuals at this point.
If you go with the 335 sedan it does lease better than the coupe.
