Acura vs Lotus weekend warrior.. which and why!!!
so the weekend warrior itch has once again returned... and after discussions with my wife, she has agreed that i should get it now that we don't have any kids yet... doesn't mean that once we have kids, i'd give up my toy...
so i have been back and forth and narrowed my choices down to either an early to mid 90's NSX or '05ish Elise are basically in the same price range...
looking across the board, i know Shoof and Trance will easily vouch for their Elise... where on the other side, we will have Synth and B@t with their beautiful Acuras...
i am very much torn but leaning towards the side of the Acura since i have always been a fan of the brand and the car when i saw it in magazines growing up... but u have to give the little go kart Lotus respect...

My friend has a Lotus Elise... and it's the most exciting and RAW car that I've ever had been to.
My vote goes to Elise.

If its going to be your track car, id go with the lotus. If you are looking for a track car that you can take on the occasional road trip, id go with the acura.
Its really a toss up. Id spend some serious seat time in both and see what suits you best.

I've been a NSX fan since I was little, so I'm biased towards it. I also believe it'll be a much more usable car if you ever plan to have fun with it during the week.
The NSX also isn't very far behind the Elise either for its age, in terms of handling capabilities.

I agree with others who have said what are you going to use it for.
Track = Elise
Street = NSX

the NSX has aged to be a classic...the Elise will just age. Do the Acura for so many reasons, the least of which: you are a moderator on AcuraZine.

Man...that is hard decision.
Pending you can the perfect the NSX (for me it would be the blue or orange color)....I would say the Elise/Exige is an amazing driver's car. Its one of the most fun cars I've ridden in as a passenger.

NSX. More refined, great looks (I'm not fond of the Elise/Exige), and wasn't it what some say is what got Ferrari to get the stick outta their @$$ and make better super cars? I'm not trying to hate on the Elise, but when I stand next to one (a kid at my school commutes with an Exige every day) I can't help but wonder how the hell I'd ever fit with one. And I don't wanna know how an Elise would be on actual roads instead of a track.

I'd take a look at that. They love the drive of the car their. They've had a few problems, but nothing that seems like an expensive fix and nothing wrong with the powertrain I think.
But I'd suggest looking at it. See how the live ability of the car is.

That's one hell of a decision. Here are some pics to help out.
I think you know where my heart is I know you probably won't go this extreme, but just saying.
yeah, I know there were Exiges in there, got a problem? pound sand

Holy shit this is a hard choice. I too have considered both as a weekend warrior. But to be honest, my opinion is worthless because I would be happy with either of them. Enjoy!!
However, if you choose the Lotus, I would only be happy if I bought an Exige, go big or go home...that is my opinion.

Considering i own a supercharged na2 nsx, id vote an nsx
But if you were to pick an exige vs nsx debate, it would be a bit harder if its a track car... If somebody was to trade my nsx for a exige, i would actually think about it hah
You can drive a nsx in the winter, an elise is literally like a gokart with a minimal interior.
But like you said, theres a reason a 21 year old nsx is in the same price range as a 5 year old car

Safety Car
id go with the NSX.
if you needed to have "discussions with your wife", then getting a lotus could be pushing it. especially if you need to have fingers crossed that you could keep the weekend warrior when the kids come. she will most likely hate the jarring ride of the lotus, meaning it will be harder to convince her to hold on to it when kids come, or when any type of financial strain rears its head. it will also be a tough sell to spend $$ modding on a car she dislikes. also, not to mention, the NSX is much more child friendly. the nsx makes more sense in this situation hands down.
any thoughts on a S2K with performance mods? or possibly a Z4M coupe? they could be had for very cheap these days.
